Abstract:Objective To discuss the CT imaging features of thyroid tumors and its value in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid tumors.Methods 78 patients with thyroid tumors were selected as the study subjects.They were examined with ultrasound and CT,respectively.The CT imaging features of benign and malignant nodules of thyroid tumors were analyzed and compared.With pathological results as the gold standard,the diagnostic efficacy(sensitivity and specificity)of CT and ultrasound examination in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid tumors was compared.Results The postoperative pathological results of 78 patients showed:58 cases(72 nodules)were benign tumors,including 33 cases of nodular goiter,3 cases of thyroiditis,22 cases of thyroid cysts;and 20 cases(22 nodules)were malignant tumors,including 2 cases of medullary carcinoma,16 cases of papillary carcinoma and 2 cases of follicular carcinoma.CT imaging features showed:the proportion of ones with uneven density in the benign nodules was 61.11%,while that in malignant nodules was 59.09%,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);the proportion of ones with cystic compactness and solid in the benign nodules was 77.78%,which was lower than 100.00%of malignant nodules,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the proportion of ones with regular edges in benign nodules was 40.28%,which was higher than 13.64%of malignant nodules,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the proportion of ones without sand-like calcification in benign nodules was 80.56%,which was higher than 50.00%of malignant nodules,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).For 78 patients with thyroid tumors,the pathological diagnosis was considered as the gold standard.The CT differential diagnosis detected 22 cases of malignant tumors and 56 cases of benign tumors,with a diagnostic sensitivity of 95.00%(19/20)and a specificity of 94.83%(55/58);while the ultrasound differential diagnosis detected 26 cases of malignant tumors and 52 cases of benign tumors,with a diagnostic sensitivity of 70.00%(14/20)and a specificity of 79.31%(46/58).The sensitivity and specificity of CT examination were higher than those of ultrasound examination,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.329,6.202,P<0.05).Conclusion The CT imaging features of thyroid tumors are as following:benign and malignant nodules have similar density;malignant nodules are cystic compactness and solid;benign nodules have regular edges and relatively obvious calcification.CT examination has higher sensitivity and specificity than ultrasound examination.Thus,it is worth promoting.
