Abstract:The SPECTRO MS - a newly developed inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS), is the only commercially available ICP mass spectrometer capable of simultaneously measuring the complete mass range used for inorganic mass spectrometry from 6Li to 238U. The capacities of ICP mass spectrometry reach new standards with this fundamental step from sequential to simultaneous measurement. The core of this revolutionary technology is the double-focusing sector field mass spectrometer based on a Mattauch-Herzog design with a completely innovative ion optic and with the novel detector which is able to simultaneously record the complete ion beam. An unparalleled analytical performance and more comprehensive applications can be expected.
