Abstract:A novel reagent,acetoacet-p-toluidide(AAPT),was introduced to the determination of trace formaldehyde based on Hantzsch reaction.The reaction can carried out at room temperature,and the product can be detected by fluorometry.The maximum absorption wavelength is 364 nm.The maximum excitation and emission wavelengths are 385 nm and 450 nm,respectively.The reaction temperature,concentrations of ethanol,and pH were optimized.A new fluorometry method for the determination of trace formaldehyde was developed usin...
