Investigation on the Awareness Situation and Influencing Factors of HPV Vaccine among Guangdong College Students

OBJECTIVE To explore the awareness,attitude and vaccination willingness of HPV and HPV vaccine among the male and female college students in Guangdong province,and to analyze the related influencing factors.METHODS a self-made questionnaire was used to investigate 621 students.RESULTS The rate of each item of HPV and HPV vaccine ranged from 0.97% to 76.2%,and the male college students had a lower knowledge cognitive rate.There was statistical significance in the cognitive rate of HPV vaccine among different genders,majors and grades(χ²=42.636,27.874,27.413,P<0.05).Both the male and female college students had high willingness and attitude towards HPV vaccination,and their cognition level was related to the vaccination willingness.CONCLUSION College students,especially the male college students,did not have a comprehensive understanding of HPV vaccine,but they had a high willingness to vaccinate.Therefore,health education related to HPV should be strengthened,and the male related information and scientific data of vaccine safety should be added to the education content.Meanwhile,it was suggested that the government should regulate the price of vaccine to promote college students to vaccinate HPV vaccine.
