Abstract:Hydrogen peroxide has found a lot of uses as fine organic chemical product, which is produced mainly by electrolysis in high cost at present in this country. In contrast hydrogen peroxide is prepared abroad from isopropanol at 1.0 MPa pressure in low cost with acetone as byproduct in newly built equipment.In this paper isopropanol is oxidized by air of 2.5 mL/s·100 g at 80 ℃ and atmospheric pressure for 48 h to give hydrogen peroxide with yield of 63% and acetone as byproduct with purity of 99.5% and yield of 73%, using benzoperoxide of 4%(w) as initiator and 8quinolinol of 0.5%(w) as stablizer for H 2O 2. The procedure is simple and safe,and can be operated under mild conditions that make it easy for commercial purpose.
