Abstract: | The distribution of the dc current in a cylindrical electrolytic cell over the surface of a liquid-metal anode and in the bulk of a PbCl2-KCl electrolyte is investigated using the methods of construction of the electric field and direct study of the distribution of metal over the electrode surface at t = 550°C. It is found that the true current density varies by a factor of more than 2 upon movement over the surface of a lead anode in a complex-shaped electrolytic cell. The distribution of the bulk current density is plotted. |
