Optimization of the Shape of Horizontal Self-pressing Outflow Open-type Pressure Regulating Tank

Abstract:The pressure tank is similar to the inlet tank of the pumping station,and has the function of regulating the flow pattern.However,the outlet pipe of the inlet tank of the traditional pumping station is mostly arranged vertically and sucks water by external force,while the outlet pipe of the pressure tank is arranged horizontally and flows out by the gravity of the water flow.For this reason,based on the FLUENT platform,Reynolds time-averaged N-S equation,VOF model,and RNGκ-εturbulence model and the single factor control method were used to study the impact of the geometric parameter changes of the pressure tank(the length-to-width ratio,the width,the wall shape of the outlet)on the hydraulic performance of the outlet section of the pressure tank.The results show that the hydraulic performance is the best when the length-to-width ratio of the pressure tank is 7,the width is 6m,and wall shape of the outlet is a rectangle with rounded corners.
