Abstract:Scientific tail selection of the shield machine is pivotal for safe and rapid construction in large-diameter and long-distance tunneling. Taking GSG Shiziyang tunnel as an example, this paper discusses the techniques and principles of tail selection, and introduces the technique and method of selecting tail configuration and grease according to the geology of the tunnel. This technique and method can also be applied to other projects for selecting the tail of the shield machine.
