Effect of the sheave material on the contact stress between the sheave and the wire rope |

| Abstract: | By analyzing the contact stress between the wire rope and the sheave, the authors pointed out that above-montioned contact stress can be reduced by using the sheaves made of compound materials with low elastic modulus, and the service life of the wire rope can be extended thereby. |
