Mesenchymal stem cells use and tumor gene therapy

Gene therapy strategies are often impaired by inefficient delivery of the vector to the tumor tissue. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have low immunogenicity and obvious tumor tropism. Recent studies indicate that it can inhibit some tumor growth by secreting soluble factors, as a transfected thempeutie gene of cloning vector, it can suppress tumor by enhancing the concentration of the therapeutic cytokine in the tumor tissue and producing some anti-cancer substance. Therefore, using MSC as the therapeutic vector will provide a new way for tumor gene therapy.
