Abstract:This paper proposes a method to determine thestatic-state closest voltage stability limits in electric power sys-tems. The static-state closest voltage stability limit corre-sponds to power limits of voltage stability when the loads in-crease along with the worst possible direction. After finishinga series of operation and derivation of matrices, an extendedJacobian matrix is formulated to compute the problem via iter-ation method. The effectiveness of the proposed method hasbeen successfully verified via the numerical simulations inDobson 5 bus,Ward-Hale 6 bus,IEEE 30 bus, IEEE 57 bus,IEEE 118 bus systems and the actual power system.
