| Abstract: | The article introduces three statements from the American Library Association: Code of Ethics;Library Bill of Rights,and the Freedom to Read.The author also discusses the New York Public Library's Ethics and Conflicts Policy for Employees, and elaborates on eight examples of conflicts of interest.In conclusion,the author extracts fundamental values of the three ALA statements and points out that ethical statements are the foundation and guide for all professional library staff development. |
