摘    要:本文主要介绍三峡水田坝断裂的地质背景,地表分布、地下延伸和构造岩特征,分析其性质及形成机理。通过断层动力学、运动学研究及其活动年龄的测定,表明水田坝断裂现在活动微弱或不活动,三峡工程运行后,该断裂不会发生较大的变形效应而诱发中强地震,该断裂对三峡工程不构成威胁.

Abstract:This paper expounds the geologic setting, surface distribution, subsurface extension and tectonite features of Shuitianba fault, then a nallyses the fault properties and its formatiom mechanism. By way of studying the faulted dynamics and kinematics and measuring the activity ages, it is indicated that Shuitianba fault is in week activating or non - activating state and not likely to occurs strong deformation effect inducing moderately strong earthquake after the Three Gorges engineering is in operation. From this it is concluded that Shuitianba fault will not constitute a threat on the Three Corges engineering.
