Development and application of New Type External Magnet Separation equipment

External Magnet Separation equipment is a new kind of magnetic separation equipment, which realize the suck sorting inside the shell through the magnet arranged outside. It can be used for iron ore preconcentration and tailings recovery where requiring for higher metal recovery. This paper introduces the sorting principle, structure composition and characteristics of the external magnet separator. The industrial application shows that the external magnetic separator can effectively realize the coarse particle preconcentration of iron ore, and the single equipment can realize the roughing and scavenging operation, configuration is simple with low operating costs
