Abstract:Objective:To analyze the donor bone thickness and height in mandibular anterior region by cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)for providing the theoretical basis for bone grafting.Methods:132 individuals with normal occlusion were examined with CBCT to analyze the sagittal planes between the bilateral mental foramen.Results:The thickness of the autogenous graft bone was from(4.49±0.69)to(6.20±0.76)mm,and the height was from(9.32±2.83)to(13.04±2.33)mm.The thickness of bone under the root of mandibular incisor for grafting was from(4.49±0.69)to(4.64±0.68)mm,while the height of bone under the mandibular canine was from(9.32±2.83)to(9.48±2.75)mm,which both show significant differences compared with the other teeth on the same side.The percentages were 76.5%and 68.2%respectively that neural tubes were seen 5 mm in front of left/right mental foramen.Conclusion:The data of bone mass for grafting from mandibular symphysis provides clinical references for dentists who should analyze CBCT carefully before implant surgery to minimize the risk of important tissue injury.
