中西融通：近代维新先驱陈炽的教育观

史学界对早期维新思想家陈炽的研究侧重于其政治观、经济观及生平等方面，而对他的教育观则关注不多。教育是陈炽维新变法的一个重要内容，他主张在全面学习西方的同时，坚守中国文化传统。他在实业教育、慈善教育、女子教育、华侨教育等方面提出许多合乎时代的主张，为中国教育近代化作出了应有的历史贡献。

Chen Chi's Reformative View of Education

The focus attention to Chen Chi—a reformist thinker in modern society is usually on his political principles, economical principles and his life story while his educational principles are neglected more or less. As an important figure of innovation, Chen Chi claimed that education should insist on the eastern tradition while learning from Western countries. He put forward many propositions for practical education, beneficence education, women education and overseas Chinese education, which were appropriate to that times and contributed to the modernization of Chinese education.
