Expression and Significance of Long Non-coding RNA FOXO1 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of lncFOXO1 in the hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods: 76 cases of HCC specimens and paired adjacent normal liver tissues (ANLTs) after surgery were collected. qRT-PCR was performed to measure the expression level of lncFOXO1 in 76 HCC and matched ANLTs. The relationship between lncFOXO1 expression and the clinical pathological parameters of patients were analyzed. Results: The expression of lncFOXO1 in HCC tissues was significantly lower than in ANLTs(P<0.05). The expression of lncFOXO1 in HCC tissues showed no obvious correlation with the age, gender, HBV and AFP level of HCC patients(P>0.05). However, lncFOXO1 expression was obviously correlated with the tumor size and number, histolog- ical grade, TNM stage of HCC(P<0.05). Conclusion: lncFOXO1 was down-regulated in HCC tissues and correlated with the clinico- pathological characteristics of HCC, it may participate in the development and progression of HCC.
