| Abstract: | Tissue typing for HLA,A,B,C antigens were performed in 23 couples with habitual abortion of "unknown causes" .compared with the 30 normal couples. The results suggested that HLA, An , A26 ,Bi4 was associated with habitual abortion. Between habitual abortion couples there was no increased sharing of histocompatibility (HLA) antigens, but a significantly incureased sharing of B5 antigen was found (P< 0. 001). No significant difference in the degree of homozygosity was observed between the two groups. Anti-husbands'lymphocyte antibodies in 95 habitual aborters' serum were also determined. The production of positive antibody was significantly decreased. 18 women were treated by immunization with their husbands' lym-phocyes,12 out of them became pregnant,that is ,3 women gave birth to three children, 1 is in full-term pregnancy,4 are normal pregnancies beyond 28 weeks, and 2 are still in the first trimesterm, 2 ended with miscarriages. |
