| Abstract: | A new species, Simulium （Gomphostilbia） kangi sp. nov. is described on basis of female and pupal specimens, which was collected from the stream on foot of Lao mountain, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. It is assigned to the subgenus Gomphostilbia, and is closely related to S. （G.） laoshanense Ren, An and Kang, 1998, S. （G.） mengi Cen, Zhang and Wen, 2000, S. （G.） gyorkosae Takaoka and Davies, 1996. However it is clearly differentiated from them by the shape of genital fork and anterior gonapophysis in the female. |
