Health promoting hospital: trend of hospital development in 21st century

Reviewing literatures about the development of health promoting hospitals in recent 20 years,the authors summarized the background and theoretic basis of health promoting hospital(HPH),the principles,contents,strategies and evaluation of the implementation of model HPH projects both aboard and at home.The conclusion is that hospitals are important settings of health promotion intervention.Construction of HPH is the trend of hospital development in the 21st century.The goals of HPH is to protect and promote the health of staffs,community residents,and patients and their relatives,build a healthy hospital environment,improve the quality of comprehensive health care,and promote the sustained development of hospitals.
