A precise determination of the τ-mass |

| Abstract: | The energy dependence of the cross sections for e+e? → e±(μ±) + 1 charged track has been measured for centre of mass energies between 3.60 and 4.40 GeV. The pair production of the τ-lepton is observed at all energies and the τ-mass is determined to be 1.787?0.018+0.010 GeV from a fit to the energy dependence of the cross section. |
