随着2007年1月1日保加利亚和罗马尼亚加入欧盟,原东欧社会主义国家中只剩下西巴尔干留在欧盟之外。西巴尔干各国是否能以及何时能获得欧盟入场券成为人们的关注重点。本文试图从西巴尔干对欧盟的重要性、西巴尔干各国加入欧盟的愿望、欧盟对该地区入盟的立场和政策几个方面来分析西巴尔干的入盟前景和影响其入盟进程的各种因素。

An Analysis of the Perspective of the West Balkans Joining the EU

After Bulgaria and Romania became EU members on January 1st 2007,of the former East European socialist countries,only the West Balkan region remains outside the EU.Whether and when the West Balkans will join the EU attracts a lot of attention.This paper attempts to analyze the EU perspective for the West Balkans,through presenting the importance of the region to the EU,the reasons for its desire of gaining EU membership,and the EU's stance and policy towards the West Balkans.Factors that might influence the West Balkan region's EU membership process are also discussed.
