南非多种矿产品产量居世界前列,2010年南非产量排名世界第一的矿产有蓝晶石、铂族金属、钛铁矿、铬铁矿、铬铁和蛭石；金红石、钒和锆石产量居世界第二位；锰矿产量居世界第三位；黄金产量居世界第四位.在世界产量中排名较靠前的重要金属矿产还有锑、锰、铁、铀、锆等金属矿.南非的铬铁、红柱石出口居世界第一位；锰矿出口居第二位:铬矿石出口居第四位.矿业已占南非基础经济中最大部分,介绍了南非各种矿产资源的储量和开发利用现状.
