Clinical Observation on Modified Shentong Zhuyu and Ditan Decoction Combined with chemotherapy in Treatment of Patients with Multiple Myeloma

Objective To study the clinical curative effect of Modified Shentong Zhuyu and Ditan Decoction Combined with chemotherapy in treatment of patients with Multiple Myeloma.Methods Forty-one patients with MM in the department of hematology of our hospital were included in the study.According to the random number table method,The control group was only treated with chemotherapy,the observation group was given modified Shentong Zhuyu and Ditan Decoction Combined with chemotherapy.After 2 courses of treatment,the curative effects of western medicine and TCM syndrome and VAS score of bone pain were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of western medicine between the control group and the observation group is insignificant(76.19%,70.00%)(P>0.05),the total effective rate of TCM syndrome(95.24%)of the observation group was significantly higher than those in the control group(55%)(P<0.05),the VAS score of bone pain in the observation group after treatment(2.29±0.72)was significantly lower than those in the control group and those without treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion the curative effects of western medicine between Modified Shentong Zhuyu and Ditan Decoction Combined with chemotherapy and simple chemotherapy are similar,but traditional chinese medicine combined with chemotherapy can significantly alleviate the symptoms of patients with phlegm and blood stasis,especially for the bone pain.
