Abstract:In order to improve the wear and corrosion resistance properties of 30CrMnSiA steel, WC-10Co4Cr coating was prepared by HVOF, and its protective properties were investigated by SEM, friction wear testing and corrosion testing, meanwhile all the tests were compared with the traditional hard Cr plating. The microstructure of WC-10Co4Cr coating observed from SEM was compact with low porosity. Micro-hardness and friction wear tests showed that the hardness of WC-10Co4Cr was about 1.4 times higher than that of hard Cr plating, while the wear resistance performance was improved more than 4 times. The corrosion testing indicated that the Ecorr of WC-10Co4Cr coating was higher than that of hard Cr plating and no apparent corrosion product appeared on the WC-10Co4Cr coating after salt spraying test for 480 hours, implying it has a long time corrosion-resistance property.
