汉语公示语英译纠错探析——基于浙江省公示语英译现状

作为一种特殊的文本形式，公示语有告知、警示、感召、宣传等作用。随着中国许多城市的国际化，越来越多的英译公示语进入了公众的视线，中国的很多城市，面临公示语英译需要作进一步纠错和改进的工作。文章以中国经济大省浙江省为例，对一些重要公共场域公示语的英译状况作一系列相关调查，从多方面分析错误的英译公示语，并提供可行的译文以及纠错策略，以期能对其它省市的公示语英译提供一些有益的参考。

An Analysis and Error-correction of Public Sign Translation --Based on the Survey of Public Sign Translation in Zhejiang

As a kind of text, public signs have the functions of informing, warning and publicizing. More and more public signs in English have appeared in China with the internationalization of cities. Public signs can reflect the outlook of a city. For example, foreign visitors may have a nice feeling when they see ＂Mind the Slope＂ as they walk out of the airport, while a sign of ＂Please Drown Carefully＂ in a fine day when someone is beside a beautiful lake is sure to destroy the impression of the city as a whole. Therefore, we Chinese should make special efforts in the English translation of public signs as more and more foreign visitors come to China for either work or sightseeing. This pa- per investigates and analyzes a lot of mistakenly-translated public signs in Zhejiang and suggests some ways of error-correction of public signs, in the hope of providing references for public sign translation.
