Analysis on Causes of a Gas Leakage on the 800 kV Tank-Type Circuit Breaker

This paper describes the gas leakage incident of 750 kV tank-type circuit breaker which occurred in the Pingliang Substation. Preliminary investigations are made into the leakage incident and the causes of it are sought and found. The disassemble inspection carried out later confirms the findings. To prevent the similar faults from happening, the author proposes some precautions to which the manufacturer should pay attention in the process of manufacture. In addition, suggestions provided in the paper will also serve as guidelines for the manufacture and erection of the main equipment of the incoming 750 kV projects.
