A new method to determine the lateral rigldity of a system formed by the high and round spring in series with rubber springs at its two ends
Abstract:The locomotive and rolling stock suspension system formed by the high and round spring in series with rubber springs is an indeterminate structure. For the first time the lateral rigidity correlation formula of the locomotive and rolling stock suspension system formed by the high and round spring in series with lubber springs of the same structural geometry and characteristic parameters at its two ends was derived through elastic rod theory applied to this elastic md indeterminate system with different material characteristics. Theoretical analysis showed that the lateral rigidity of compound spring system orly depended on the structural geomety parameters, material characteristic parameters and the magnitude of vertical load of springs and had nothing to do with whether this compound spring system bore lateral load and produced lateral deformation. It also confommed to the experiment results, had higher calculation accuracy and satisfied the design needs.
