Abstract:As improvements in productivity in later phases of the system lifecycle are achieved, the need increases for improved productivity in the early phases of software development. Computer-aided analysis and design tools provide increased productivity. This paper presents the principle, implementation, function and features of the generating environments for software requirement analysis RAGE/DFD based on UNIX OS and X-WINDOW system. This system can be used for all kinds of application systems to generate specifications. It provides friendly manecomputer interfaces and direct-manipulation manner, and can automatically detect syntax errors in DFD.
