A Brief Analysis of the Similarities and Differences in the Understanding of Febrile Diseases in Treatise on Pestilence,Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Diseases and Differentiation of Epidemic Febrile Diseases

Corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19),who is raging at present,belongs to the category of"epidemic"disease of traditional Chinese medicine,belongs to febrile disease,and has strong infectivity and epidemic.The Ming and Qing dynasties were the heyday of the development of febrile diseases,in which WU Youke’s Treatise on Pestilence,YE Tianshi’s Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Diseases and WU Jutong’s Differentiation of Epidemic Febrile Diseases were unique representatives.By comparing the three works,it can be found that Treatise on Pestilence is the foundation work in the history of epidemic disease in China.It creatively puts forward the theory of causing disease by hostility,which holds that evil enters from the mouth and nose and lies in the membrane,and has the characteristics of spreading from inside to outside.It also puts forward that the treatment of epidemic disease should take dispelling evil as the first important point,attaching importance to attacking evil and conserving Yin fluid.Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Diseases and Differentiation of Epidemic Febrile Diseases are deeply influenced by them and continue to develop,thinking that the evil of warm heat enters through the mouth and nose,first invades the lung,and forms the program of syndrome differentiation and treatment of Wei,Qi,Ying,blood and Sanjiao,which marks the gradual maturity of TCM in the diagnosis and treatment of febrile disease.
