| Abstract: | Two new steroidal saponins were isolated from the fruits of Tribulus terrestris L. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical analysis as (23S,24R,25R)-5α-spirostane-3β,23,24-triol-3-O-{α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 4)]-β-d-galactopyranoside} (1) and (23S,24R,25S)-5α-spirostane-3β,23,24-triol-3-O-{α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 4)]-β-d-galactopyranoside} (2). |
