Summary: The direct lethal action of ł 10⁻⁵ M miconazole against Candida albicans ATCC 11651 depends upon, and is therefore regulated by, growth phase, pH, and whether any miconazole is present during lag phase when susceptibility develops. Certain of these studies were recently extended to C. albicans ATCC 26790 with nearly identical results, suggesting that such regulation is a general phenomenon.
