Matteo Ricci: an Intercultural Angel and Intercultural Adaptation

The paper analyzes Matteo Ricci’s intercultural interactions in China,particularly his approaches to overcome the communication difficulties.In addition,it probes into his extraordinary cross-cultural accomplishments and the enlightenment in intercultural communication studies,concluding that what contributed most to his career in China were the localization of his religious belief,subtle approach,the language,apparel,behavior,and the elucidation of his thoughts and his religious belief via Confucianism.
