Clinical Observation of the Local Washing with Ornidazole for Preventing the Infection of Operative Incision after Resection of Purulent Appendicitis

Objective： To explore the effect of the local washing with ornidazole for preventing the infection of operative incision after resection of purulent appendicitis.Method：80 cases of acute purulent appendicitis were randomized into two groups,the intervention group（40 cases） and control group（40 cases）;All patients appendectomy and the incisions were sutured with the same method,the intervention group incisions were washed with ornidazole,the control group incisions were washed with physiologic saline,wound healing were observed and compared.Result：In intervention group the infective rate of incision was 2.00%,in control group the infective rate of incision was 10%,there was significant differences between the two groups（P〈0.05）.Conclusion：The local washing with ornidazole can be effective in preventing the infection of operative incision after resection of purulent appendicitis,and hence is worthy of being recommended in clinical practice.
