Solvable <Emphasis Type="Italic">D</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>-groups

Let G be a finite group, Irr¹(G) be the set of nonlinear irreducible characters of G and cd¹(G) the set of degrees of the characters in Irr¹(G). A group G is said to be a D₂-group if|cd¹(G)|=|Irr¹(G)|-2. In this paper, we give a complete classification of solvable D₂-groups.     

Periodic vibro-impacts and their stability of a dual component system

The coexisting periodic impacting motions and their multiplicity of a kind of dual component systems under harmonic excitation are analytically derived. The stability condition of a periodic impacting motion is given by analyzing the propagation of small, arbitrary perturbation from that motion. In numerical simulations, the periodic impacting motions are classified according to the system states before and after an impact. The numerical results show that there exist many types of vibro-impacts and the bifurcation of periodic vibro-impacts is not smooth. The multiplicity of abelian covers of splice quotient singularities

From a resolution graph with certain conditions, Neumann and Wahl constructed an equisingular family of surface singularities called splice quotients. For this class some fundamental analytic invariants have been computed from their resolution graph. In this paper we give a method to compute the multiplicity of an abelian covering of a splice quotient from its resolution graph and the Galois group.

Detection efficiency and range measurements of alphas and protons in cellulose nitrate

The range, detection efficiency and etching development of alpha tracks were studied in cellulose nitrate. Some other track revelation techniques employing the swelling of latent alpha and proton tracks are discussed.     

System size effects on probing nuclear dissipation with neutrons

Using a dynamical Langevin equation coupled with a statistical decay model, we calculate the excess of the pre-scission neutron multiplicities over its standard statistical-model values as a function of the nuclear dissipation strength for the three nuclei 190Os, 200Hg, and 210Po which have the same neutron-to-proton ratio N/Z. We find that by decreasing the size of the fissioning nuclei, the effects of nuclear dissipation on the excess of the pre-scission neutron multiplicity are substantially amplified, and that the sensitivity of this excess to the nuclear friction strength is considerably increased as well. We suggest that for those fissioning systems with the same N/Z that are populated in fusion reactions, to obtain a more accurate information of the nuclear dissipation strength by measuring the pre-scission neutron multiplicity, it is best to choose a system with a small size.     

钴(Ⅱ)盐鉴别可溶性碳酸盐溶液实验的设计与研究*

为拓展钴(Ⅱ)盐的用途,利用钴(Ⅱ)盐在碱液中的多样性和可溶性碳酸盐溶液组分含量的差异性,采用分别向2种无色可溶性碳酸盐溶液中滴加钴盐溶液的措施,建立了钴(Ⅱ)盐鉴别碳酸钠溶液和碳酸氢钠溶液的有效方法。实验结果表明,反应后碳酸钠溶液呈清晰的蓝色浑浊或沉淀,而碳酸氢钠溶液则呈清晰的紫红色浑浊或沉淀。该方法现象明显、安全可靠、重现性好、成功率高、适用性强、应用面广,可应用于食品、药品检测,食品质量与安全,医药健康,化学化工等技术领域,也可用作课堂演示实验。     

The Positivity of Intersection Multiplicities and Symbolic Powers of Prime Ideals

Serre's nonnegativity conjecture for intersection multiplicities has recently been proven by O. Gabber. In this paper we investigate Serre's positivity conjecture using the methods which he developed. We show in particular that the positivity conjecture has implications for properties of symbolic powers of prime ideals in regular local rings.
