Production of the fungus Aspergillus niger NRRL 330 was studied in submerged fermentation with ram horn hydrolysate (RHH) as substrate. The characteristics of RHH have been reported previously. The RHH was enriched by addition of glucose and KH2PO4. The effects of kinetic parameters on the biomass yield of the fungus were investigated. The optimal conditions for growth of A niger on RHH were initial pH 6.5, temperature 30 °C, fermentation time 96 h and agitation speed 150 rpm. Under these optimal conditions the initial carbohydrate content of RHH was reduced from 1.52 to 0.2% and the biomass yield was 8.9 g l?1. The biomass contained about 48.1% protein, 5.2% fat and 9.4% ash (on a dry weight basis). The amino acid content of the biomass was compared with Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and animal feed standards. The protein produced contained all the essential amino acids for animal feed, but the amounts of these amino acids were somewhat lower than those of FAO and soybean reference protein. However, the amino acid composition of the biomass was better than that of animal feed. The results with RHH were also compared with previously reported data on fungal mycelium grown on waste liquor substrate. Texture analysis provides a means to quantify complex changes in microscope images. We previously showed that cytoplasmic poly-adenylated mRNAs form mRNA granules in post-ischemic neurons and that these granules correlated with protein synthesis inhibition and hence cell death. Here we utilized the texture analysis software MaZda to quantify mRNA granules in photomicrographs of the pyramidal cell layer of rat hippocampal region CA3 around 1 h of reperfusion after 10 min of normothermic global cerebral ischemia. At 1 h reperfusion, we observed variations in the texture of mRNA granules amongst samples that were readily quantified by texture analysis. Individual sample variation was consistent with the interpretation that animal-to-animal variations in mRNA granules reflected the time-course of mRNA granule formation. We also used texture analysis to quantify the effect of cycloheximide, given either before or after brain ischemia, on mRNA granules. If administered before ischemia, cycloheximide inhibited mRNA granule formation, but if administered after ischemia did not prevent mRNA granulation, indicating mRNA granule formation is dependent on dissociation of polysomes. 为解决目前110、220kV变压器中性点保护用棒-棒间隙电极分体装设时存在距离调节不准、放电电压不稳定等固有缺陷,研制了一种新型复合间隙。根据间隙保护原则确定间隙的技术条件并设计了间隙的结构;通过Ф14-75°和Ф20-45°羊角间隙的工频和雷电冲击放电试验确定了复合间隙采用Ф14-75°羊角电极及其间隙距离。考核羊角间隙和棒间隙耐弧性能的工频电弧试验结果表明:羊角间隙的放电电极在间隙放电后未发生烧蚀现象,保证了放电电压的稳定性,验证了新型复合间隙更适合变压器中性点保护。 相似文献

This article describes a new technique for pattern squint elimination of quad‐ridged conical and pyramidal horn antennas by introducing bended coaxial probes. Because of the phase difference and mutual coupling between vertical and horizontal polarizations, the radiation patterns of the conventional quad‐ridged conical and pyramidal horn antennas squint over a wide bandwidth. The proposed technique substantially reduces the phase difference and coupling between the two probes, so a significant improvement in the radiation patterns over the frequency band of 8–18 GHz can be achieved. The designed modified horn antennas are most suitable as a feed element in reflectors of radar systems and EMC applications. The proposed modified antennas have a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2.2 for the frequency range of 8–18 GHz. Moreover, the proposed antennas exhibit high gain, dual‐polarization performance, good isolation, low SLL, low back lobe, low cross polarization, and satisfactory far‐field radiation characteristics for the entire frequency band. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
