The behavior of differential forms under purely inseparable extensions

Let F be a field of characteristic 2. In this paper we give a complete computation of the kernel of the homomorphism $H_2^{m+1}(F)?H_2^{m+1}(L)$ induced by scalar extension, where $L/F$ is a purely inseparable extension (of any degree), $H_2^{m+1}(F)$ is the cokernel of the Artin–Schreier operator $?:{\mathrm{\Omega }}_F^m?{\mathrm{\Omega }}_F^m/\mathrm{d}{\mathrm{\Omega }}_F^{m?1}$ given by: $x\frac{\mathrm{d}{x}_1}{x_1}\wedge ?\wedge \frac{\mathrm{d}{x}_m}{x_m}?(x^2?x)\frac{\mathrm{d}{x}_1}{x_1}\wedge ?\wedge \frac{\mathrm{d}{x}_m}{x_m}+\mathrm{d}{\mathrm{\Omega }}_F^{m?1}$, where ${\mathrm{\Omega }}_F^m$ is the space of absolute m-differential forms over F and d is the differential operator. Other related results are included.     

Exponential decay of eigenfunctions in many-body type scattering with second-order perturbations

We show the exponential decay of eigenfunctions of second-order geometric many-body type Hamiltonians at non-threshold energies. Moreover, in the case of first-order and small second-order perturbations we show that there are no eigenfunctions with positive energy.

通过调整Mn的成分，系统地研究了Ni81Fe19/Ni100-xMnx双层膜的磁学性质，特别是交换偏置场(Hex)的变化.当Ni100-xMnx中Mn的原子百分比在534%到600%之间时，对于150nm的Ni81Fe19，得到了最大的交换偏置场175kA/m，同时由于Mn对Ni81Fe19层的扩散所造成的磁矩的降低小于20%；高角x射线衍射证明Ni100-xMnx的晶格常数随着Mn成分的改变而变化，Mn含量越多，其晶格常数越大；制备态Ni100-xMnx膜晶格常数与θ相NiMn膜晶格常数的接近程度与NiMn膜θ相形成的容易程度相对应.也研究了交换偏置场随着Ni１００-xMnx厚度的变化，第一次得到了当Ni100-xMnx中Mn的原子百分比为706%时，Ni81Fe19(150nm)/Ni100-xMnx(90nm)双层膜在经过240℃，5h退火后，可以有80kA/m的交换偏置场，此时铁磁层磁矩的大小几乎不变. 关键词： Ni81Fe19/Ni100-xMnx 交换偏置场

Classical solutions to a quadratically nonlinear gauge theory

We present some classical solutions to a gauge theory based on quadratically nonlinear Lie algebras without a central term. We observe that instanton-like and meron-like solutions force the internal fields to behave like solitons.     

Effects of in situ thermal annealing on the structural, optical, and electrical properties in Hg0.7Cd0.3Te epilayers grown on CdTe buffer layers

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) transmission, and Hall effect measurements were performed to investigate the structural, optical, and electrical properties of as-grown and in situ-annealed Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te epilayers grown on CdTe buffer layers by using molecular beam epitaxy. After the Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te epilayers had been annealed in a Hg-cell flux atmosphere, the SEM images showed that the surface morphologies of the Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te thin films were mirror-like with no indication of pinholes or defects, and the FTIR spectra showed that the transmission intensities had increased in comparison to that of the as-grown Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te epilayer. Hall-effect measurements showed that n-Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te epilayers were converted to p-Hg_0.7Cd_0.3Te epilayers. These results indicate that the surface, optical, and electrical properties of the Hg_1 − xCd_xTe epilayers are improved by annealing and that as-grown n-Hg_1 − xCd_xTe epilayers can be converted to p-Hg_1 − xCd_xTe epilayers by in situ annealing.     

Algebraic fermion bosonization

By exploiting the construction of charged field algebras as canonical extensions of CCR current algebras in 1+1 dimensions and nonregular representations of extended algebras, we provide an algebraic construction of local Fermi fields as ultrastrong limits of bosonic variables in all representations which are locally Fock with respect to the ground-state representation of the massless scalar field.     

GLq(N)-covariant braided differential bialgebras

We study the possibility of defining the (braided) comultiplication for the GL _q (N)-covariant differential complexes on some quantum spaces. We discover suchdifferential bialgebras (and Hopf algebras) on the bosonic and fermionic quantum hyperplanes (with additive coproduct) and on the braided matrix algebra BM _q (N) with both multiplicative and additive coproducts. The latter case is related (forN = 2) to theq-Minkowski space andq-Poincaré algebra.     

The tetrahedron algebra and its finite-dimensional irreducible modules

Recently Terwilliger and the present author found a presentation for the three-point sl₂ loop algebra via generators and relations. To obtain this presentation we defined a Lie algebra ? by generators and relations and displayed an isomorphism from ? to the three-point sl₂ loop algebra. In this paper we classify the finite-dimensional irreducible ?-modules.     

Fabrication of Long-Period Fibre Gratings Using 800 nm Femtosecond Laser Pulses

Long-period fibre gratings inside standard single-mode optical communication fibres are successfully fabricated with infrared femtosecond laser pulses. The refractive index perturbations are well confined within the fibre core by choosing the proper laser focusing parameters and translation speed of the fibre during the direct laser writing process. With the self-focusing effect considered and at a constant average irradiation dose of 1.62 × 10^3 J/（cm^2μm）, the threshold intensity for fabricating long-period gratings with infrared femtosecond laser pulses is determined to be 5.13 × 10^13 W/cm2.
