The photocatalytic decolorization and mineralization of Reactive Black 5 (RB5) dye in presence of TiO2 Degussa P25 has been studied using artificial light radiation in a shallow pond slurry reactor. The equilibrium adsorption of dye, influence of pH (3–11), catalyst load (0.5–3.0 g/L), and dye concentration (20–100 mg/L) on decolorization kinetics were studied. The effect of area to volume ratio of photoreactor on decolorization kinetics has been also studied. Mineralization studies were performed at optimized conditions of pH (3) and catalyst load (1.5 g/L). The maximum adsorption (26.5 mg/g) of dye was found to occur at pH 3. The apparent pseudo first order decolorization rate constant (kapp) value followed the order pH 3 > pH 11 > pH 9 > pH 7. As compared to available literature reduction in total organic carbon (TOC) was minimal by the time there was complete decolorization. Initial reduction in TOC was followed by subsequent increasing trend till complete decolorization. Final decreasing trend in TOC was observed only after complete decolorization. Twelve hours of treatment under experimental conditions reduced TOC content by 70% only. Discussion of results suggest that photocatalytic treatment of colored effluent under low UV intensity, and low A/V ratio may result in completely decolorized effluent but still having high COD. 相似文献

Kettle ponds in the Cape Cod National Seashore in southeastern Massachusetts differ in their evolution due to depth of the original ice block, the clay content of outwash in their drainage basins, and their siting in relation to geomorphic changes caused by sea-level rise, barrier beach formation, and saltmarsh development. Stratigraphic records of microfossil, carbon isotope, and sediment changes also document late-glacial and Holocene climatic changes.The ponds are separated into 3 groups, each of which follow different development scenarios. Group I ponds date from the late-glacial. They formed in clay-rich outwash, have perched aquifers and continuous lake sediment deposition. The earliest pollen and macrofossil assemblages in Group I pond sediments suggest tundra and spruce-willow parklands before 12 000 yr B.P., boreal forest between 12 000 and 10 500 yr B.P., bog/heath initiation and expansion during the Younger Dryas between 11 000 and 10 000 yr B.P., northern conifer forest between 10 500 and 9500 yr B.P., and establishment of the Cape oak and pitch pine barrens vegetation after 9500 yr B.P. Sedimentation rate changes suggest lowered freshwater levels between 9000 and 5000 yr B.P. caused by decreased precipitation on the Atlantic Coastal Plain. Lake sediment deposition began in the middle Holocene in Group II ponds which formed in clay-poor outwash. These ponds date from about 6000-5000 yr B.P. In these ponds sediment deposition began as sea level rose and the freshwater lens intersected the dry basins. The basal radiocarbon dates of these ponds and stable carbon isotope analyses of the pond sediments suggest a sea-level curve for Cape Cod Bay. Holocene topographic changes in upland and the landscape surrounding the ponds is reconstructed for this coastal area.Group III ponds in the late Holocene landscape of the Provincelands dunes originated as interdunal bogs about 1000 yr B.P. and became ponds more recently as water-levels increased. Peat formation in the Provincelands reflects climatic changes evident on both sides of the Atlantic region.This is the 8th in a series of papers published in this special AMQUA issue. The Slumgullion landslide in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado has been moving for at least the last few hundred years and has multiple ponds on its surface. We have studied eight ponds during 30 trips to the landslide between July 1998 and July 2007. During each trip, we have made observations on the variability in pond locations and water levels, taken ground‐based photographs to document pond water with respect to moving landslide material and vegetation, conducted Global Positioning System surveys of the elevations of water levels and mapped pond sediments on the landslide surface. Additionally, we have used stereo aerial photographs taken in October 1939, October 1940 and July 2000 to measure topographic profiles of the eight pond locations, as well as a longitudinal profile along the approximate centerline of the landslide, to examine topographic changes over a 60‐ to 61‐year period of time. Results from field observations, analyses of photographs, mapping and measurements indicate that all pond locations have remained spatially stationary for 60–300 years while landslide material moves through these locations. Water levels during the observation period were sensitive to changes in the local, spring‐fed, stream network, and to periodic filling of pond locations by sediment from floods, hyperconcentrated flows, mud flows and debris flows. For pond locations to remain stationary, the locations must mimic depressions along the basal surface of the landslide. The existence of such depressions indicates that the topography of the basal landslide surface is irregular. These results suggest that, for translational landslides that have moved distances larger than the dimensions of the largest basal topographic irregularities (about 200 m at Slumgullion), landslide surface morphology can be used as a guide to the morphology of the basal slip surface. Because basal slip surface morphology can affect landslide stability, kinematic models and stability analyses of translational landslides should attempt to incorporate irregular basal surface topography. Additional implications for moving landslides where basal topography controls surface morphology include the following: dateable sediments or organic material from basal layers of stationary ponds will yield ages that are younger than the date of landslide initiation, and it is probable that other landslide surface features such as faults, streams, springs and sinks are also controlled by basal topography. The longitudinal topographic profile indicated that the upper part of the Slumgullion landslide was depleted at a mean vertical lowering rate of 5.6 cm/yr between 1939 and 2000, while the toe advanced at an average rate of 1.5 m/yr during the same period. Therefore, during this 61‐year period, neither the depletion of material at the head of the landslide nor continued growth of the landslide toe has decreased the overall movement rate of the landslide. S≥7 along Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault zone are divided, and their individual fault-pattern and tectonic geomorphology are analyzed.
Those strong-earthquake areas are located in some special parts of the fault zone, where the major branch-faults of the fault
zone form left stepping, parallel, and fork-like patterns. In the strong-earthquake areas structurally complicated basins
are developed, such as pull-apart basins in fork-like area, in double stepping area, and in stepping and fork-like areas.

研究了365nm波长紫外线辐射中国对虾精子对其顶体反应和受精能力的影响。结果表明,低剂量紫外线辐射促进精子发生顶体反应,大剂量辐射使精子丧失发生顶体反应的生理机能并死亡。365nm波长紫外线能够透过精荚和纳精囊盖,对其内精子起到杀伤作用。精液稀释液在紫外线下辐射5~8s,仍有部分精子具有受精能力,但胚胎在早期阶段即死亡。人工诱导雌核发育的过程中,紫外线辐射精液稀释液5~8s,可获得遗传物质失活的精子(激活源)。经透射电镜观察分析,紫外线对精子遗传物质的损伤是一种使染色质变性的化学作用。 相似文献

Experiments were conducted from June to September, 1995 in a controlled integrated culture pond-enclosure ecosystem. The principal objective of this study was to quantify the rate of heterotrophic bacterioplankton productionin situ in a fertilization pond ecosystem. This paper presents a method by which bacterial production was estimated through incubation in situ and measurement of increased bacterial abundance with time. Bacterial growth rates, production and turnover per day during the periods of culture were estimated. 对黄淮海平原低洼盐碱地鱼塘中溶解氧与物质循环之间的关系进行了初步研究. 结果表明池塘水体中的溶解氧含量取决于水体中藻类的光合作用及其它生物的耗氧作用扰动的方式时间可显著改变水体中溶解氧的含量. 池塘水体中异养细菌的数量变动除与水体中的有机物质含量等有关外与水体中溶解氧的含量密切相关. 尤其在底泥中这种变化更加明显. 池塘水体中的氨化作用强度磷的转化强度明显地呈现出受水体中的溶解氧含量影响. 当水体中的溶解氧含量增加时导致细菌的现存量及活性的增加使得氨化作用强度磷的转化强度也显著增加这种情况在底泥中表现的更加明显. 池塘水体中反硝化作用强度反硫化作用强度的变化则与水体中溶解氧含量的变化相反. 当水体中溶解氧的含量减少时水体中的反硝化作用强度反硫化作用强度反而大大增加. 这种作用在底泥中表现得也非常明显. 相似文献
