Herein, we report an addition to the toolbox for the monitoring and quantification of the hydrolytic decay of pentose-1-phosphates, which are known to be elusive and difficult to quantify. This communication describes how apparent equilibrium shifts of a nucleoside phosphorolysis reaction can be employed to calculate hydrolytic loss of pentose-1-phosphates based on the measurement of post-hydrolysis equilibrium concentrations of a nucleoside and a nucleobase. To demonstrate this approach, we assessed the stability of the relatively stable ribose-1-phosphate at 98 °C and found half-lives of 1.8–11.7 h depending on the medium pH. This approach can be extended to other sugar phosphates and related reaction systems to quantify the stability of UV-inactive and hard-to-detect reaction products and intermediates.  相似文献

The paper represents a further development of our hydrate hypothesis of simplest living matter origination (SLMO) from inorganic and simplest organic mineral substances. It is supposed that the sources of SLMO are simplest aliphatic hydrocarbons, niters, and phosphates. Thermodynamic calculations demonstrating a principal possibility for simultaneous syntheses of different nitrogen bases, d-ribose, and desoxy-d-ribose from these source substances are presented. The most probable principal mechanism of SLMO and the principal conditions necessary for realization of the proposed chemism of SLMO in the framework of the proposed mechanism are considered. A principal means for testing the hypothesis is proposed.  相似文献

Theab initio SCF method is used for computing the main electronic properties of the ribose unit of the nucleic acids. The present study is devoted to the ribose in the C3-endo,gg conformation. The properties investigated include the distribution of the electronic charges, the electrostatic molecular potential around the four oxygens of the unit, the hydration and the Na+ binding schemes studied in the supermolecule approximation. The possibilities of through-water binding of the cation to the sugar are also explored. The predictions of the computation in particular with regard to cation binding to the ribose ring are correlated with recent experimental results.  相似文献

The metabolic profiling of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa, Hayward cultivar) aqueous extracts and the water status of entire kiwifruits were monitored over the season (June-December) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methodologies. The metabolic profiling of aqueous kiwifruit extracts was investigated by means of high field NMR spectroscopy. A large number of water-soluble metabolites were assigned by means of 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The change in the metabolic profiles monitored over the season allowed the kiwifruit development to be investigated. Specific temporal trends of aminoacids, sugars, organic acids and other metabolites were observed.The water status of kiwifruits was monitored directly on the intact fruit measuring the T2 spin-spin relaxation time by means of a portable unilateral NMR instrument, fully non-invasive. Again, clear trends of the relaxation time were observed during the monitoring period.The results show that the monitoring of the metabolic profiling and the monitoring of the water status are two complementary means suitable to have a complete view of the investigated fruit.  相似文献

The diffusion coefficients of deoxyribose and ribose in water were measured at 25°C. The Stokes-Einstein relation for mono-, di-, and tri-saccharides are discussed. The diffusion coefficient at infinite dilution Do for deoxyribose was the largest among these sugars. It appears that the deoxyribose breaks local water structure but the ribose hardly affects the structure. Do correlates well with the mean number of e-OH groups in the sugar molecule. It is suggested that the mean number of e-OH groups is a good parameter to describe the properties of sugar hydration.  相似文献
