The superconducting and magnetic properties of the Yb1.2–x
Eu
x
Mo6S8 series of compounds have been investigated by means of ac magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, and upper critical magnetic fieldH
c2 measurements. The superconducting transition temperature at ambient pressure is depressed by Eu additions, until superconductivity disappears completely atx0.7. For Eu concentrationsx<0.45,H
c2 is enhanced at low temperatures and exceeds the values for pure Yb1.2Mo6S8. The temperature dependence ofH
c2 for the various Yb1.2–x
Eu
x
Mo6S8 compounds is analyzed using a multiple pair-breaking theory that includes the compensation of the applied magnetic field by the negative exchange field produced by antiferromagnetic interactions between the conduction electron spins and the Eu2+ spins (Jaccarino-Peter effect). Hydrostatic pressure was found to induce superconductivity in all Eu-rich compositions that were not superconducting at ambient pressure. 相似文献

Experimental efforts to characterize and develop an understanding of non Fermi liquid (NFL) behavior at low temperature in f-electron materials are reviewed for three f-electron systems: M1–xUxPd3 (M = Sc, Y), U1–xThxPd2Al3, and UCu5–xPdx. The emerging systematics of NFL behavior in f-electron systems, based on the present sample of nearly ten f-electron systems, is updated. Many of the f-electron systems exhibit the following temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity p, specific heat C, and magnetic susceptibility for T T0, where To is a characteristic temperature: P(T) 1 –aT/T

Synchronous bandwidth, defined as the maximum time a node is allowed to send its synchronous messages while holding the token, is a sensitive parameter for deadline guarantees of synchronous messages in any timed token network. In order to offer such guarantees, synchronous bandwidth has to be allocated carefully to each individual node. This paper studies the synchronous bandwidth allocated to those synchronous message streams whose deadlines are less than twice the Target Token Rotation Time (TTRT). A new approach for allocating synchronous bandwidth to such streams, which can be used with any previously published local synchronous bandwidth allocation (SBA) for guaranteeing a general synchronous message set with its minimum deadline (Dmin) no less than 2 · TTRT, is proposed. The proposed scheme can be applied efficiently in practice to any general synchronous message set with Dmin > TTRT. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the enhanced performance of this new local scheme over any of the previously published local SBA schemes. 相似文献

The scarcity of bandwidth in the radio spectrum has become more vital since the demand for more and more wireless applications has increased. Most of the spectrum bands have been allocated although many studies have shown that these bands are significantly underutilized most of the time. The problem of unavailability of spectrum and inefficiency in its utilization has been smartly addressed by the cognitive radio (CR) technology which is an opportunistic network that senses the environment, observes the network changes, and then uses knowledge gained from the prior interaction with the network to make intelligent decisions by dynamically adapting their transmission characteristics. In this paper, some of the decentralized adaptive medium access control (MAC) protocols for CR networks have been critically analyzed, and a novel adaptive MAC protocol for CR networks, decentralized non-global MAC (DNG-MAC), has been proposed. The ability to select the larger of two quantities ranging from 1 to 5 (relative numerousness judgment [RNJ[) and the ability to select the larger of two pairs of quantities with each pair ranging from 1 to 8 (summation) were evaluated in young, middle-aged, and older adult orangutans (7 Pongo pygmaeus abelii and 2 Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus). Summation accuracy and RNJ were similar to those of previous reports in apes; however, the pattern of age-related differences with regard to these tasks was different from that previously reported in gorillas. Older orangutans were less accurate than the young and middle-aged for RNJ, and summation accuracy was equivalent among age groups. Evidence was found to suggest that the young and middle-aged based their selection of the largest quantity pair on both quantities within each pair during the summation task. The double superconducting transition in PrOs4Sb12, first observed in specific heat C(T) measurements on single crystal samples, was studied by means of specific heat measurements
on PrOs4Sb12 crystals that had been subjected to applied magnetic fields, substitution of up to 4 Ru for Os, and annealing. The double
superconducting transitions of a batch of single crystals were measured before and after annealing for 5 days at 500°C, to
remove strains and promote homogeniety, with no observed change. Measurements of C(T) near Tc for PrOs4Sb12 in several magnetic fields are also presented, detailing the evolution of the double transition up to 1 T. Samples of Pr(Os1-x Rux)Sb12 with 0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.04 also appear to display a double superconducting transition in specific heat. In addition, samples
with the smallest Ru concentration measured (x = 0.01) may even display a more isotropic type of superconductivity than pure
