To objectively evaluate the parenchymal echo pattern of cirrhotic liver and chronic hepatitis, the authors applied an image analyzing system (IAS) using a neural network. Autopsy specimens in a water tank (n=13) were used to examine the relationship between the diameter of the regenerative nodule and the coarse score (CS) calculated by IAS. CS was significantly correlated with the diameter of the regenerative nodule (p<0.0001, r=0.966). CS is considered to be useful for evaluating the coarseness of the parenchymal echo pattern  相似文献

In this study, a series of synthetic oligonucleotide duplexes are tested as a substrate for esperamicin. The duplexes contain a typical binding sequence of esperamicin, 5'-GGA/TCC, but have different flexibilities in helix structure from each other. When cleavage activities of these oligonucleotides by esperamicin were estimated by using DNA sequencing method, a substantial increase of the cleavage at 3'-NAGG was observed with increasing the helix flexibility. This observation indicates that structural flexibility of host DNA duplex is important in an induced-fit association between esperamicin and DNA.  相似文献

Stationary projectors mainly used in system applications have recently gained a wider application range, including general presentations in halls and large conference rooms and being used, for example, in digital signage and for monitoring purposes. Consequently, they are required to meet new market demands for durability, reliability, and flexibility in installation in addition to their conventional basic performance such as especially high brightness. To achieve especially high brightness, a new optical system with two lamps is proposed; the profile of the cover glass that prevents the glass from scattering is made aspherical, the profile of the beam‐combining mirror is improved with its position optimized, and the size of the incident plane of the integrator rod is made larger (1.1 times). These measures resulted in an optical system of an even higher efficiency with 7000 lm, which is the highest in its class (according to a June 2010 investigation). Also, the arrangement of two parallel lamps completely eliminated the effect of heat passing from one lamp to the other, which helped secure durability, reliability, and flexibility in installation. Furthermore, the combined use of the unique non‐telecentric optical system, adopted from the conventional single‐lamp model, helps maintain the class‐highest contrast ratio.1,2  相似文献

Simultaneous removal of acetaldehyde, ammonia, and hydrogen sulphide from air by the impregnated active carbon was studied at 25C. p-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA), phosphoric acid (H3PO4), and metal compound such as copper (II) chloride dihydrate (CuCl2·2H2O), copper (II) nitrate trihydrate (Cu(NO3)2·3H2O), and potassium iodide (KI) were investigated as impregnation ingredients. Acetaldehyde and ammonia were simultaneously removed from air by the active carbon impregnated with PABA and H3PO4. The removal was found to be made mainly through chemical reaction. Acetaldehyde, ammonia, and hydrogen sulphide were simultaneously removed from air by the active carbon impregnated with PABA, H3PO4, and metal compound such as CuCl2·2H2O, Cu(NO3)2·3H2O, and KI.  相似文献

We have isolated novel immediate early genes (IEGs) from the hippocampus by differential cloning techniques. These mRNAs are induced by synaptic activity and translated into proteins that may affect neural function. We have analyzed a variety of "effector" immediate early genes. These mRNAs encode: 1) cytoplasmic proteins, such as cyclooxygenase-2, a small G protein, Rheb, and a cytoskeleton-associated protein, Arc; 2) membrane-bound proteins, such as the cell adhesion protein Arcadlin, and a neurite-outgrowth protein, Neuritin; and 3) a secreted protein, Narp. We hypothesize that physiological stimulation induces "effector" proteins that might strengthen synaptic connections of activated synapses. In contrast, pathological conditions such as epilepsy or drug addiction may accelerate overproduction of these gene products, which cause abnormal synapse formation. Gene targeting and in vivo gene transfer techniques are required to prove this hypothesis.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: This article presents results of the acute treatment phase of a 2-site study comparing cognitive behavioral group therapy (CBGT) and treatment with the monoamine oxidase inhibitor phenelzine sulfate for social phobia. METHODS: One hundred thirty-three patients from 2 sites received 12 weeks of CBGT, phenelzine therapy, pill placebo administration, or educational-supportive group therapy (an attention-placebo treatment of equal credibility to CBGT). The "allegiance effect," ie, the tendency for treatments to seem most efficacious in settings of similar theoretical orientation and less efficacious in theoretically divergent settings, was also examined by comparing responses to the treatment conditions at both sites: 1 known for pharmacological treatment of anxiety disorders and the other for cognitive behavioral treatment. RESULTs: After 12 weeks, phenelzine therapy and CBGT led to superior response rates and greater change on dimensional measures than did either control condition. However, response to phenelzine therapy was more evident after 6 weeks, and phenelzine therapy was also superior to CBGT after 12 weeks on some measures. There were few differences between sites, suggesting that these treatments can be efficacious at facilities with differing theoretical allegiances. CONCLUSIONS: After 12 weeks, both phenelzine therapy and CBGT were associated with marked positive response. Although phenelzine therapy was superior to CBGT on some measures, both were more efficacious than the control conditions. More extended cognitive behavioral treatment and the combination of modalities may enhance treatment effect.  相似文献

Two kinds of HfSiOx/interlayers (ILs)/Ge gate stack structures with HfGeN- and GeO2-ILs were fabricated using electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma sputtering and the subsequent post deposition annealing (PDA). It was found that HfGe was formed by the deposition of Hf metal on Ge and changed to HfGeN by N2 ECR-plasma irradiation, which was used as IL. Another IL was GeO2, which was grown by thermal oxidation at 500 °C. For dielectrics with HfGeN-IL, PDA of 550 °C resulted in effective oxide thickness (EOT) of 2.2 nm, hysteresis of 0.1 V, and interface state density (Dit) = 7 × 1012 cm− 2 eV− 1. For dielectrics with GeO2-IL, PDA of 500 °C resulted in EOT of 2.8 nm, hysteresis of 0.1 V, and Dit = 1 × 1012 cm− 2 eV− 1. The structural change of HfSiOx/GeO2/Ge during the PDA was clarified by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the gate stack formation for obtaining the good IL was discussed.  相似文献

Superficial epidermolytic ichthyosis (SEI) is an autosomal dominant inherited ichthyosis. SEI is caused by mutations in KRT2 and frequently shows erythroderma and widespread blistering at birth. We report the clinical manifestations of two patients from a Japanese family with SEI caused by a hotspot mutation, p.Glu487Lys, in KRT2. In addition, we summarize previous reports on SEI patients with the identical mutation. One of the two patients had disease onset at the age of 7 months. The other patient’s age of onset is unknown, but it was in childhood. Neither of the two patients showed erythroderma. To perform deep phenotyping, we studied the age of onset and the frequency of erythroderma in 34 reported SEI cases with the p.Glu487Lys mutation, including the present cases. Among the cases with sufficient clinical information, 44.4% of the cases that were due to p.Glu487Lys in KRT2 occurred at birth. Erythroderma was observed in 11.1% of the cases with p.Glu487Lys in KRT2.  相似文献

Underwater vehicle-manipulator systems (UVMS) are expected to play an important role in ocean exploration. It is considered that UVMS will be operated by both automatic and manual control. We have proposed an automatic control method. In this article, we propose a master-slave system for a UVMS. The effectiveness of the proposed master-slave control system is demonstrated by using a floating underwater robot with a 2-link manipulator.  相似文献
