Travel websites are extensively used by travelers for their travel bookings, yet little is known about the hedonic effectiveness of such experiences for the customer. The end users of these websites are customers who may not always be sophisticated information system (IS) users. Further, traditional utility based measures of customer evaluation are dated with respect to the interactive nature of the technology in use and the hedonic benefits that may result from the use of the technology. The evaluation of IS needs to include hedonic measures facilitated by the interactive technology in addition to the traditional utility based measures. We propose and test an evaluation model for retail travel websites that combines the traditional utility based measures with hedonic measures which collectively create a more comprehensive measure for the IS evaluation of consumer focused websites. Thus rooted in theory, the model extends DeLone and McLean’s model of IS Success by adding the construct of User Experience. The model was tested on a sample of 255 customers of travel websites targeted at the Indian market. The results indicate that both utility based and hedonic measures are important factors for customer IS (travel website in this study) evaluation. The larger implications for theory and practice of IS evaluation are explained.  相似文献

4-Nonylphenols (NPs) are common products of biodegradation of a widely used group of nonionic surfactants, the nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs). These compounds are known to be persistent, toxic, and estrogen active. There is a worldwide scientific and public discussion on the potential consequences of human long term dietary exposure to such endocrine disrupters. Despite numerous determinations of NPs in environmental samples no systematical reports exist relating to concentrations of NPs in food. We analyzed NPs in 60 different foodstuff commercially available in Germany. The results indicate that NPs are ubiquitous in food. The concentrations of NPs on a fresh weight basis varied between 0.1 and 19.4 microg/kg regardless of the fat content of the foodstuff. Based on data on German food consumption rates and these first analyses of NPs in food, the daily intake for an adult was calculated to be 7.5 microg/day NPs. For infants exclusively fed with breast milk or infant formulas daily intakes of 0.2 microg/day and 1.4 microg/day NPs, respectively, can be estimated.  相似文献

The relation between color and gloss of injection‐molded plastic specimens was evaluated by means of a 45°/0° geometry spectrophotometer and a glossmeter. The specimens were plaques having one smooth, glossy field and one rougher, textured region made of two different polymeric materials (acrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene and polypropylene) in a range of colors. A significant influence of the lightness L* of the specimens on the measured gloss of the textured field, with a low gloss appearance, was found. This can probably be attributed to a contribution from bulk scattering, which is linked to the reflectance from within the specimen. The influence of texture on the measured color of the plaques was assessed by evaluating the color difference between the smooth field and the more textured area on the specimens. When the surface was textured, the color changed; in general it became lighter and less saturated. The magnitude of the change depended on the color of the material. The darker the material was, the larger was the increase in lightness L* as the surface became rougher. The shift in chroma C* was determined not only by the saturation but also by the lightness of the specimens. Darker specimens exhibited a larger decrease in chroma when the surface was textured. The change in the measured color caused by increasing the surface roughness could be predicted in a satisfactory manner using a model developed for xerographic printing paper. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The effect of the size of gold particles deposited on CeO2 and TiO2 supports on their catalytic behavior in the aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol in different solvents (mesitylene, toluene, and supercritical carbon dioxide) has been investigated. The size of supported gold particles deposited via a colloidal route was in the range 1.3–11.3 nm, as determined by means of EXAFS and HAADF-STEM measurements. The catalytic performance of the supported gold catalysts in the different solvents revealed a significant effect of the gold particle size. Optimal activity was observed for catalysts with medium particle size (ca. 6.9 nm) whereas smaller and bigger particles showed inferior activity. Identical trends for the activity–particle size relationship were found using Au/CeO2 and Au/TiO2 for the reaction at atmospheric pressure in conventional solvents (mesitylene, toluene) as well as under supercritical conditions (scCO2). Selectivity to benzaldehyde was only weakly affected by the gold particle size and mainly depended on reaction conditions. In supercritical CO2 (scCO2) selectivity was higher than in the conventional solvents under atmospheric pressure. All catalysts tested with particle sizes ranging from 1.3 to 11.3 nm showed excellent selectivity of 99% or higher under supercritical conditions.  相似文献

Palladium acetate has been shown to be a highly active catalyst for Heck reactions of aryl chlorides even in the absence of organic ligands. Bromobenzene can efficiently be coupled in presence of negligible traces of Pd, resulting in the highest TON (4.7 × 107) and TOF (1.2 × 107 h?1) values that have ever been reported for this system up to now.  相似文献

Biochemical Parameters to Determine the Minimum Need of Linoleic Acid The biochemical parameters indicated only relatively late the lack of linoleic acid, whereas clinical observations indicated already earlier a not sufficient supply. Aggregation and rate of haemolysis are exceptions because they direct to changes even at our first measuring date after 2 weeks of continuous feeding; that means these two parameters are probably similar intensive to changes in fatty acid pattern which react according to literature, upon insufficient supply of linoleic acid already after a few days. That is to say that the most functions of cells and cell components, investigated by us, are interfered only at longer lasting shortage of linoleic acid. The observation of group III was of interest in our investigations because the supply of 0.5 % of energy is below the up to now assumed minimum need. The results of the various measurements showed no clear trend, i. e. they were partly between those of deficiently and sufficiently supplied animals, as for example concerning the investigations in the mitochondrions, partly they did not differ from the control. A supply of the minimum need by 0.5 % of energy supply as linoleic acid does consequently not take place absolutely, a concentration between 0.5 and 1.3 % of energy supply as linoleic acid could lead to clear results, in regard to a new settlement of the minimum supply.  相似文献
