Launched in April 1999, the Landsat-7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) instrument is in its sixth year of operation. The ETM+ instrument has been the most stable of any of the Landsat instruments. To date, the best onboard calibration source for the reflective bands has been the Full Aperture Solar Calibrator, a solar-diffuser-based system, which has indicated changes of between 1% to 2% per year in the ETM+ gain for bands 1-4 and 8 and less than 0.5%/year for bands 5 and 7. However, most of this change is believed to be caused by changes in the solar diffuser panel, as opposed to a change in the instrument's gain. This belief is based partially on vicarious calibrations and observations of "invariant sites", hyperarid sites of the Sahara and Arabia. Weighted average slopes determined from these datasets suggest changes of 0.0% to 0.4% per year for bands 1-4 and 8 and 0.4% to 0.5% per year for bands 5 and 7. Absolute calibration of the reflective bands of the ETM+ is consistent with vicarious observations and other sensors generally at the 5% level, though there appear to be some systematic differences.  相似文献

A new approach for link modelling in wireless multi-hop networks is described for portable devices, based on Kernel Regression Statistics. A non-parametric estimation of errors in the wireless medium provides an efficient and accurate model of link errors between any two nodes. This estimation results from the analysis of the inter-arrival time between any periodically sent packets. The obtained results prove that it is possible to infer on link quality without having unrealistic assumptions or additional overhead, by using Kernel Methods. Moreover, similar performances were achieved for different scenarios, without requiring model recalculations. The presented results show that the proposed link quality estimation can be used in order to improve wireless connectivity and ubiquity in future networks.  相似文献

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVAl) hydrogel, alone and reinforced with two types of carbon nanoparticles, was studied in cultured cells to assess its potential use in treating osteochondral defects. The carbon nanoparticles were produced by hot-filament chemical vapour deposition. The carbon material was characterised with a Renishaw Invia Raman microscope system and the morphological particles were characterised with field emission scanning electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. Cytotoxicity was evaluated by measuring the Vero fibroblast-type cells’ metabolic activity and studying their morphology. The osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells obtained from rat bone marrow was evaluated by alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and alizarin red S (ARS) staining. Cell viability and morphology were assessed with thiazolyl blue tetrazolium bromide and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The materials did not interfere with the viability, metabolic activity, morphology and spreading of either of the cell types analysed. Nodules of mineralised organic matrix were identified with ARS and ALP, confirming osteogenic differentiation. These results indicated higher concentration of ALP and mineralised matrix for PVAl with carbon nanoparticles. The results of this study indicate the potential use of carbon nanoparticles with PVAl hydrogels as orthopaedic biomaterials to treat osteochondral defects, but further in vivo investigations are still necessary.  相似文献

This paper deals with the use of invariant visual features for visual servoing. New features are proposed to control the 6 degrees of freedom of a robotic system with better linearizing properties and robustness to noise than the state of the art in image-based visual servoing. We show in this paper that by using these features the behavior of image-based visual servoing in task space can be significantly improved. This paper describes a multi-agent based simulation (MABS) framework to construct an artificial electric power market populated with learning agents. The artificial market, named TEMMAS (The Electricity Market Multi-Agent Simulator), explores the integration of two design constructs: (i) the specification of the environmental physical market properties and (ii) the specification of the decision-making (deliberative) and reactive agents. TEMMAS is materialized in an experimental setup involving distinct power generator companies that operate in the market and search for the trading strategies that best exploit their generating units’ resources. The experimental results show a coherent market behavior that emerges from the overall simulated environment.  相似文献

A periodic 3% to 5% variation in detector response affecting both image and internal calibrator (IC) data has been observed in bands 5 and 7 of the Landsat-5 Thematic Mapper. The source for this variation is thought to be an interference effect due to buildup of an ice-like contaminant film on a ZnSe window, covered with an antireflective coating (ARC), of the cooled Dewar containing these detectors. Periodic warming of the dewar is required in order to remove the contaminant and restore detector response to an uncontaminated level. These effects in the IC data have been characterized over four individual outgassing cycles using thin-film models to estimate transmittance of the window/ARC and ARC/contaminant film stack throughout the instrument lifetime. Based on the results obtained from this modeling, a lookup table procedure has been implemented that provides correction factors to improve the calibration accuracy of bands 5 and 7 by approximately 5%.  相似文献
