To fill the gap between what uniform resource names (URNs) provide and what humans need, we propose a new kind of uniform resource identifier (URI) called human-friendly names (HFNs). In this article, we present the design for a scalable HFN-to-URL (uniform resource locator) resolution mechanism that makes use of the Domain Name System (DNS) and the Globe location service to name and locate resources. The vocal control mechanism of the collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto) was examined by analyzing the effect of a light flash on the interruptibility of the perch coo. Flashes sometimes resulted in an immediate startle response, which often coincided with a distortion of the ongoing vocalizations. Some flashes led to an interruption of cooing, usually some time after the flash and startle response. Stops occurred between coos, but also between or during the elements within a coo. Flashes during pauses between elements resulted in more stops that flashes during elements. The findings suggest that the element the unit of vocal production. A new stable version (“production version”) v5.28.00 of ROOT [1] has been published [2]. It features several major improvements in many areas, most noteworthy data storage performance as well as statistics and graphics features. Some of these improvements have already been predicted in the original publication Antcheva et al. (2009) [3]. This version will be maintained for at least 6 months; new minor revisions (“patch releases”) will be published [4] to solve problems reported with this version.

A theoretical model has been developed to describe heat transfer to a fluid which is flowing turbulently in a pipe and within which a first-order endothermic irreversible chemical reaction is taking place. It is based on the penetration model for the fluid boundary layer close to the pipe wall and enables the calculation of the effect of chemical reaction on the heat transfer coefficient of turbulent pipe flow.The model has been checked against experimental results for flow distribution and heat transfer in turbulent pipe flow without chemical reaction. Good agreement between the calculated and experimental results was found. The measured heat transfer coefficients for turbulent pipe flow with a uniformly distributed heat source within the fluid were also well predicted. Unfortunately no accurate experimental data on the effect of a first-order chemical reaction on the heat transfer coefficient of turbulent pipe flow are available. However, calculations made with the model show that this effect can be considerable and thus may not always be neglected in practice.  相似文献
