This study deals with the impact property and damage tolerance of matrix hybrid composite laminates with different laminate constitution. The matrix hybrid composite laminates consisted of the laminae with a conventional epoxy resin and the laminae with a flexible epoxy resin modified from the conventional resin to avoid the interlaminar delamination. The impact energy absorption ratio greatly depended on the matrix resin placed at the impact face. The energy absorption was almost constant if the conventional resin was placed at the impact surface layer, while it increased exponentially with the increasing fraction of the flexible resin if the flexible resin was placed at the impact face. The impact energy was absorbed by the damage development and propagation in the laminate with conventional resin laminae as the impacted face, while it was absorbed by both the recoverable deformation of the flexible resin and the damage propagation in the laminate with flexible resin laminae as the impacted face. 相似文献

This study deals with the fracture process and acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of a randomly oriented E-glass fiber mat reinforcement with a crosslinked polyester. These panels were evaluated after they were immersed in hot water. The fiber volume content of the panel was 19%. Glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) panels wer immersed in water at 81°C. Bending and AE monitoring tests were Performed and after bending, the cross-section of the specimen was observed by an optical microscope and SEM. The influence of degradation, due to water immersion, on the changes of fracture process of GFRP is discussed. The dominant fracture mode of the virgin specimen was matrix cracks, whereas that of the immersed specimen was debondings at the fiber bundle/matrix and fiber/matrix interfaces. This change was caused by reduction of the bonding strength at the interface. The scale of fracture can be estimated by both AE amplitude and AE energy and this estimation method was used to estimate the fracture mode changes of GFRP panels immersed in hot water. 相似文献

JAPC (The Japan Atomic Power Company) is the only electric power company that operates different types of nuclear reactors in Japan; it operates two BWRs (boiling water reactors), one pressurised water reactor and one gas cooled reactor. JAPC has been conducting various activities aimed at reducing radiation dose received by workers for over 45 y. Recently, the collective dose resulting from periodic maintenance has increased at each plant because of the replacement of large equipment and the unexpected extension of the outage period. In particular, the collective dose at Tokai-2 is one of the highest among Japanese BWR plants((1)), owing to the replacement and strengthening of equipment to meet earthquake-proof requirements. In this study, the authors performed a multilateral analysis of unacceptably a large collective dose and devised a new ALARA programme that includes a 3D dose prediction map and the development of machines to assist workers. 相似文献

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: To verify the hypothesis that impaired autoregulation may contribute to cerebral swelling or hemorrhage after a sudden recovery of perfusion pressure, we studied the chronic effects of cerebral hypoperfusion on the autoregulatory responses of the pial arterioles in situ. METHODS: Eight to 12 weeks after a carotid-jugular fistula was created in rats, experiments were performed under alpha-chloralose and urethane anesthesia. Regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) was determined by the hydrogen clearance method, and carotid pressure was measured. Using a closed cranial window, we determined the autoregulatory responses of the arterioles (30 to 50 microns) to both hypertension induced by norepinephrine and sudden fistula closure at various mean arterial pressures (MAPs). RESULTS: rCBF on the fistula side was reduced by 27%. Carotid pressure was significantly lower than normal but was immediately increased by fistula closure. The pial arterioles showed marked elongation and enlargement. During induced hypertension, the arterioles in the fistula group started to dilate at an MAP lower than that of the control group (130 versus 180 mm Hg, respectively). The arterioles constricted when the fistula was occluded at normal MAP. However, when the fistula was occluded at an MAP higher than 130 mm Hg, the vessels dilated. CONCLUSIONS: It was demonstrated that (1) chronic hypoperfusion induced impairment of the upper limit of autoregulation and (2) sudden fistula closure under hypertensive conditions caused vasodilation of the arterioles. These findings suggest that rapid restoration of perfusion pressure is possibly followed by a pressure breakthrough phenomenon in a chronically hypoperfused cerebrovasculature. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: Classification of macroscopic appearance and standard operative procedures for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) are still controversial. METHODS: The mode of spread of 12 resected ICCs was examined by light microscopy, and the appropriate operative procedures for the various tumours were considered. RESULTS: Macroscopically, nine tumours were classified as mass-forming type and three as periductal infiltrating type. All patients were treated by major hepatectomy; resection of the extrahepatic bile duct was included in two cases of the periductal infiltrating type. Microscopically, invasion into the portal vein, intrahepatic metastasis and perineural or lymphatic vessel invasion occurred in none, one and all of three tumours of the periductal infiltrating type and in eight, six and six of nine tumours of the mass-forming type. CONCLUSION: ICC of the periductal infiltrating type has a tendency to spread along Glisson's sheath via lymphatic vessels. By contrast, ICC of the mass-forming type tends to invade the liver via the portal vein system; such tumours begin to invade Glisson's sheath through the lymphatic vessels when the tumour has increased in size. Therefore, major hepatectomy with combined resection of the extrahepatic bile duct should be performed for all ICCs of the periductal infiltrating type and for those of the mass-forming type with invasion of Glisson's sheath. 相似文献

Specimens collected in several localities from Salta and Tucumán provinces (north-western Argentina) Liolaemus quilmes and L. ornatus (oviparous population), and L. alticolor (viviparous population) were dissected. The specimens of lizards examinated have nematodes, in stomach, fore-gut and cloaca, identified as Physaloptera lutzi Guimaraes, Cristófaro and Rodrigues, 1976. This represents the first record for this parasite from Liolaemus species in Argentina. Morphologic and morphometric parasitological studies were done. The specimens were drawn and photographed. Intrarenal hemodynamics were studied by duplex Doppler sonography in 112 inpatients with type II diabetes mellitus (DM; 65 males, 47 females, 58 +/- 13 years old). The resistive index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI) of the interlobar arteries were calculated. The patients were divided into four groups: group I consisted of patients with urinary albumin excretion (UAE) < 20 micrograms/min (N = 42), group II with 20 < or = UAE < 200 (N = 28), group III with UAE > or = 200 (N = 25), and group IV with serum creatinine > or = 1.5 mg/dl (N = 17). Both RI and PI values in groups II, III, and IV were significantly higher than those in the controls (age- and sex-matched healthy persons, N = 37; P < 0.001), and those in group IV were significantly higher than those in groups I, II, and III (P < 0.0001). Multiple regression analysis revealed that RI values in DM patients were significantly affected by creatinine clearance, age, and duration of diabetes (R2 = 0.554, P < 0.0001). When intima-medial thickness (IMT) of the femoral and carotid arteries were measured by B-mode ultrasonography, RI values were significantly correlated with both the femoral and carotid arterial IMT. These results demonstrate that intrarenal hemodynamic abnormalities are present in type II DM patients with nephropathy, and that intrarenal hemodynamics are affected by decreased glomerular function and also probably by advanced arteriosclerosis. 相似文献

A 57 year-old Japanese man with a carcinoid somatostatinoma of the papilla of Vater is presented. He was found to have cholecystolithiasis without any symptoms. Physical examination showed no abnormal findings. Routine laboratory data gave normal results, except for glucose intolerance and an elevated somatostatin concentration. A yellowish papillary tumor was found at the papilla of Vater, and histological examination suggested the diagnosis of carcinoid. He underwent a pancreatoduodenectomy in March 1992. The gallbladder contained a single pure cholesterol stone. Histological, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic studies resulted in the diagnosis of a carcinoid somatostatinoma of the papilla of Vater, without regional lymph node metastases. Post-operative pancreatic juice output from the total pancreatic duct drainage increased to more than 1000 mL/day. Although an anastomotic leakage of the pancreatojejunostomy was noted, the pancreatic fistula closed 8 weeks later. His postoperative somatostatin value was normal. He has been well for 54 months following surgery, without any signs of recurrence. 相似文献
