The Frizzled genes encode receptors for WNTs, secreted glycoproteins implicated in development as well as in carcinogenesis. In this paper, we report molecular cloning of Hfz6, the human homologue of Mfz6. Nucleotide sequence analysis showed that the Hfz6 gene encodes the 706 amino-acid protein with seven transmembrane domains, a cystein-rich domain in the N-terminal extracellular region, two N-linked glycosylation sites, and two cystein residues in the second and third extracellular loops. Hfz6 mRNA 4.4-kb in size was detected in various normal adult and fetal tissues, and a larger amount of Hfz6 mRNA was detected in both fetal lung and fetal kidney. The Hfz6 gene has been mapped to human chromosome 8q22.3-q23.1. In conclusion, we have cloned Hfz6, which encodes a seven-transmembrane receptor with the cystein-rich domain in the N-terminal extracellular region, but without the Ser/Thr-X-Val motif in the C-terminus.  相似文献

A mechanical computerized three-dimensional scanner with a resolution of 1 micron was used to assess loss of enamel caused by orthodontic bonding and debonding. A total of 2646 measurements was performed on six human premolars. The results showed an average loss of enamel of 7.4 microns. The range was between 1 and 52 microns, which may account for discrepancies with earlier studies that measured only a few points per tooth surface.  相似文献

An ultrahigh-speed 8 bit multiplexer (MUX) has been developed for future-generation optical-fiber communication systems having a data rate of 20 Gb/s. This IC was fabricated using a 0.5 μm WNx/W-gate GaAs MESFET process based on optical lithography, ion implantation, and furnace annealing for good reproducibility and high throughput. The WNx/W bilayer gate has a low sheet resistance, improving the circuit high frequency performance. To attain 20 GHz operation, advanced circuit techniques for the source-coupled FET logic (SCFL) were introduced. A cross coupled source-follower (CCSF) was developed mainly for the highest speed buffers to enhance the bandwidth. Infectious mononucleosis (IM) syndrome is typically caused by EBV, but also by drugs and other organisms such as CMV and HBV. It demonstrates a wide range of clinical and laboratory characteristics, presumably depending on the age of onset. However, associations of laboratory abnormalities with the clinical features have not been well documented. We evaluated here, the associations among patients with IM syndrome using of multiple regression (MR) and multiple logistic regression (MLR) analyses. We examined 90 (40 males, 50 females) patients, who were admitted to our hospital with IM syndrome. The diagnostic criteria were fever and presence of atypical lymphocytes (> 5% of the WBC or the count including monocytes > 5000/microliter), and at least 3 of 7 clinical features: tonsillitis, lymphadenopathy, skin rash, hepato-, spleno-megaly, hepatic dysfunction. The diagnosis of EBV was serologically confirmed in 41 cases. MR revealed that the higher age group tended to have lower platelet counts, and that lower platelet counts were associated with higher ALT levels. In addition, MLR revealed that patients with skin rash tended not to have splenomegaly. The frequency of splenomegaly was not related to age, contrary to the findings of previous reports. These findings are useful to differentiate IM syndrome based on laboratory data.  相似文献

This paper addresses a path tracking problem with obstacle avoidance for Lagrange systems. The proposed method is based on field potential methods in combination with navigation functions for obstacle avoidance. First, it is shown that a simple combination of the navigation function with the conventional path tracking controller does not work. Therefore, in order to cope with this problem, a new feedback law is proposed for a path parameter which characterizes the reference path. It is proved that the proposed controller achieves both path following and collision avoidance. Moreover, since the method adopts bounded navigation functions, the proposed controllers generate bounded input signals even when target systems approach obstacles. Finally, an experimental evaluation is performed with a two-link manipulator to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

A highly active superacid of 2 wt% Fe-supported ZrO2 for the skeletal isomerization of butane to isobutane was obtained by sfexposing Fe2O3/ZrO2 to 1 N H2SO4 followed by calcining in air at 700°C for more than 24 h; the Fe2O3/ZrO2 was prepared by impregnating zirconia gel with a solution of Fe(NO3)3 followed by drying at 300°C (2 wt% Fe). A much lower activity was observed with the opposite procedure, where the first impregnation was sulfation of the gel, followed by a second impregnation with the iron compound. It was proved from analysis of the sulfur content in the catalysts that residual sulfur species were not related with generation of the superacidic sites. Etching characteristics of high-k dielectric materials (HfO2) and metal electrode materials (Pt, TaN) have been studied in high-density chlorine-containing plasmas at pressures around 10 mTorr. The etching of HfO2 was performed in BCl3 without rf biasing, giving an etch rate of about 5 nm/min with a high selectivity of >10 over Si and SiO2. The etching of Pt and TaN was performed in Ar/O2 with high rf biasing and in Ar/Cl2 with low rf biasing, respectively, giving a Pt etch rate of about several tens nm/min and a TaN etch rate of about 200 nm/min with a high selectivity of >8 over HfO2 and SiO2. The etched profiles were outwardly tapered for Pt, owing to the redeposition of etch or sputter products on feature sidewalls, while the TaN profiles were almost anisotropic, probably owing to the ion-enhanced etching that occurred.  相似文献

In this paper an integrated procedure for three‐dimensional (3D) structural analyses with the finite cover method (FCM) is introduced. In the pre‐process of this procedure, the geometry of a structure is modelled by 3D‐CAD, followed by digitization to have the corresponding voxel model, and then the structure is covered by a union of mathematical covers, namely a mathematical mesh independently generated for approximation purposes. Since the mesh topology in the FCM does not need to conform to the physical boundaries of the structure, the mesh can be regular and structured. Thus, the numerical analysis procedure is free from the difficulties mesh generation typically poses and, in this sense, enables us to realize the mesh‐free analysis. After formulating the FCM with interface elements for the static equilibrium state of a structure, we detail the procedure of the finite cover modelling, including the geometry modelling with 3D‐CAD and the identification of the geometry covered by a regular mesh for numerical integration. Prior to full 3D modelling and analysis, we present a simple numerical example to confirm the equivalence of the performance of the FCM and that of the standard finite element method (FEM). ABSTRACT

Motor-skill learning for complex robotic tasks is a challenging problem due to the high task variability. Robotic clothing assistance is one such challenging problem that can greatly improve the quality-of-life for the elderly and disabled. In this study, we propose a data-efficient representation to encode task-specific motor-skills of the robot using Bayesian nonparametric latent variable models. The effectivity of the proposed motor-skill representation is demonstrated in two ways: (1) through a real-time controller that can be used as a tool for learning from demonstration to impart novel skills to the robot and (2) by demonstrating that policy search reinforcement learning in such a task-specific latent space outperforms learning in the high-dimensional joint configuration space of the robot. We implement our proposed framework in a practical setting with a dual-arm robot performing clothing assistance tasks.  相似文献
