A true rms-to-dc converter based on the explicit computation technique is proposed in this paper. Since the scheme utilizes translinear principle circuits to realize current-mode squarer, averaging and square root circuits, only npn bipolar junction transistors are required. The conversion circuit has wide-band frequency response and can be operated with single supply voltage at 2 V. PSPICE simulation and experimental results show good agreement with the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

A novel gm –RC quadrature oscillator using operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) and grounded passive elements is proposed. The circuit provides two quadrature outputs of equal magnitude and the oscillation frequency is insensitive to temperature. The oscillation frequency can be linearly and electronically controlled without affecting the condition of oscillation. The active ω0-sensitivity has been shown to be small. Experimental and simulation results that demonstrate the performance of the proposed oscillator are also included.  相似文献

A circuit design technique that employs translinear current-controlled current conveyors as active circuit elements to design a sinusoidal frequency doubling and full-wave rectifying circuit is proposed. The circuit can realize the sinusoidal frequency doubler and full-wave rectifier without changing the circuit configuration. The proposed frequency doubling and rectifying action is exploited from the translinear characteristic of the current conveyor. Simulation and experimental results are given to confirm the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

A new current-mode current-controlled three-input single-output universal filter, which employs only five plus-type second-generation current-controlled current conveyors (CCCIIs) and two grounded capacitors, is presented in this paper. The proposed configuration provides lowpass, bandpass, highpass, bandstop, and allpass current responses at a high impedance terminal, which enables easy cascadability of the circuit. The filter also offers independent electronic control of the natural frequency ωo and the quality factor Q through adjusting of the bias current of the CCCII. Derived analytical expressions for the filter parameter deviations due to CCCII nonidealities are also included. PSPICE simulation results are performed to confirm the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

A new design technique for a true rms-to-dc converter is implemented around a dual translinear-based squarer circuit. A dual translinear loop and current mirrors are the basic building blocks in this realization scheme, and the computation is carried in current-mode. The conversion circuit consists of a squarer, a low-pass filter and a square-root circuit. Since no rectifier function is required, this converter configuration enables us to obtain a wideband frequency response. The input signal can he voltage or current. In addition, the modification of the converter to construct a vector summation computing circuit is also discussed  相似文献

The analysis and design of the two promising candidates for interstage bandwidth enhancement of integrated wide-band cascaded amplifiers (CAs), namely series-shunt (SH) and shunt-series (HS) triple-resonance peaking, are presented. The principal operation of both peaking networks is described qualitatively in time-domain where the inherent bandwidth superiority of SH peaking is revealed. With the help of triple resonance concept, a rigorous and insightful analysis is then given in frequency domain. Analytical equations applicable to both networks have been derived to enable the proper inductance selection and to quantify the bandwidth advantage of SH peaking. In addition, various frequency characteristics of the networks are discussed through the investigation of their triple resonant frequency locations. This is followed by detailed analysis on the important nonidealities due to transistors gate resistance and inductors' losses. The effectiveness of theoretical analysis is demonstrated via design and simulation of SHCA and HSCA with identical number of stages, gain and power consumption. The results show good agreement between theoretical analysis and simulation where the SHCA outperforms its HS counterpart in bandwidth while other performances are practically identical.  相似文献

An integrable circuit technique for implementing both positive and negative second-generation current conveyors (CCII) is described. Since the proposed circuits consist of a differential pair, current sources, and current mirrors, the realization method can result in a fully integrated current conveyor. The realization method is suitable for fabrication in CMOS technology. The performance of the CMOS-based CCIIs is discussed in detail. The basic performances are demonstrated and simulation and experimental results are presented. This paper presents a realization of a current-mode first-order allpass filter using two current differencing transconductance amplifiers (CDTAs) as the active components and one virtually grounded capacitor as the only passive component. The proposed filer requires no external resistor and is electronically adjustable by varying the external bias current of the CDTA. No component-matching constraints are required. The circuit realizes both inverting and non-inverting types of allpass filters, and also exhibits high-output impedances, which are easy cascading in the current-mode operation. As an application of the proposed CDTA-based allpass section, a current-mode quadrature oscillator is realized. PSPICE simulation results are given to confirm the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

A simple and integrable temperature compensation scheme for translinear current conveyor-based circuits and OTA-based circuits is introduced. It uses a new bias circuit which has a current that is directly proportional to the absolute temperature, and can also be electronically varied.
