Direct conversion receiver (DCR) architecture, which has introduced the zero intermediate frequency (IF) approach, supports efficient wireless handset designs with a high level of integration. Transmission over wireless channels is subject to time dispersion due to multipath propagation and frequency dispersion due to Doppler effect, the design of wireless receivers are tremendously important in supporting reliable communication links. With wireless technology growing, the choice of optimal wireless receiver architecture that supports monolithic integration without performance degradation becomes an important dimension in modern handset design. The increasing demand for mobile terminals with smaller physical dimensions has led to the investigation of DCR, which supports single chip and multinode designs. Since DCR is a promising architecture for fourth generation mobile terminals, it is important to note that implementation of a certain dc offset technique does not compromise the benefits of low complexity receiver design. 相似文献

High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is used to study and identify the organic substances that result from the sorption-desorption processes occurring on the surface and in the near-surface layers of oak timber in contact with water-ethanol extracts (WEEs). The work is supplemented by a study of the antioxidant activities of WEEs, which was carried out using an amperometric detector. L-band gain improvement through usage of secondary pumping sources in the form of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) was conducted. A simulation of the three-level rate equation that precedes the experimental approach provides a limited overview of the behavior of various inputs into the active medium-the erbium-doped fiber. Gain improvement as high as 6 dB was attained while incurring minimal noise figure penalty; in this case as low as 1 dB. For an L-band amplifier system employing ASE to improve gain, pumping the system counterdirectionally with ASE while the 980- or 1480-nm pumps are being used in a copropagating configuration would yield the best overall performance in terms of gain. 相似文献

Sodium nitrite (SNT) widely used as a curative agent in meat processing industry possesses cell-transforming mutagenic and cytogenic properties. Dietary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFA) has been shown to reduce the severity of certain types of cancers, cardiovascular and renal diseases. The present study examined whether feeding of fish oil (FO)/flaxseed oil (FXO) has protective effect against SNT-induced toxicity. SNT significantly altered the activities of serum creatinine (Crt), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), metabolic and brush border membrane (BBM) enzymes. SNT caused significant imbalances in the antioxidant system associated with increased lipid peroxidation (LPO). Feeding of FO and FXO with SNT ameliorated the changes in various parameters caused by SNT. Nephrotoxicity parameters lowered and enzyme activities of carbohydrate metabolism, BBM and radioactively labeled inorganic phosphate (32Pi) transport were improved to near control values. The results of the present study suggest that ω-3 PUFA-enriched FO and FXO from sea-foods and plant sources respectively are similarly effective in reducing SNT-induced nephrotoxicity and oxidative damage. 相似文献

of 1 day under standard 50 °C hot air flow conditions). Shade polishing gives high quality rice with a whole-grain yield of
68-70% rather than the usual 52-60%. A tasting evaluation was carried out by an international panel and the rice was found
to be perfect after a cooking time of 6 min, with an overcooked time of 18 min as against 17 min and 20 min, respectively,

Vacuum impregnation (VI) has been widely utilized as a pre-treatment method prior to, e.g., the minimal processing, freezing, or drying of foods. In many cases, VI has been used to focus on the enrichment of fruits and vegetables with probiotics or micronutrients, texture enhancement, the modification of the sensory attributes, and extension of shelf life by pH reduction. However, little attention has been paid to the exploration of the metabolic consequences of VI that could lead to changes in the quality characteristics of plant tissues. Since nitrate has long been discussed as a compound that is harmful to human health, the aim of this investigation was to reduce the nitrate content in spinach leaves by feeding sucrose into the tissue using VI. The leaves, either non-treated or treated with VI, were stored under saturated humidity conditions and in darkness at 8 °C, for up to 72 h. VI-treated leaves showed a remarkable reduction in nitrate content as compared to the non-treated samples. Upon storage, sucrose was reduced, indicating that this sugar had been respired and had induced metabolization of the stored nitrate. The nitrite content of the treated leaves was unaffected, proving that this toxic compound was not accumulated in the baby spinach leaves upon external sucrose feeding. 相似文献

A computational procedure is presented for predicting the dynamic response of curved beams with geometric nonlinearities. A mixed formulation is used with the fundamental unknowns consisting of stress resultants, generalized displacements and velocity components. The governing semidiscrete finite element equations consist of a mixed system of algebraic and differential equations. The temporal integration of the differential equations is performed by using an explicit half-station central difference method. A procedure is outlined for lumping both the flexibilities and masses of the mixed model, thereby uncoupling all the equations of the system. The advantages of the proposed computational procedure over explicit methods used with the displacement formulation are discussed. The effectiveness and versatility of the proposed approach are demonstrated by means of numerical examples. 相似文献

Chempedak (Artocarpus integer) seed flour (CSF) was substituted for wheat flour at different levels (0%, 10%, 20%, 30% w/w) in bread. Assessment on the in vitro starch hydrolysis was carried out to evaluate the hydrolysis index (HI) and estimated glycaemic index (EGI) of bread substituted with different levels of CSF. Kinetics of in vitro starch hydrolysis in all bread samples (with the exception for white bread) indicated a gradual increase with respect to time intervals. Bread of 30% CSF exhibited significantly lower (p < 0.05) in vitro starch hydrolysis, as compared with the other samples. Results showed that HI value decreased significantly (p < 0.05) as the levels of CSF substitution increased. Resistant starch (RS) content in bread samples was inversely related with HI value as CSF substitution levels increased, thus lowering the EGI value. 相似文献

The impact of replacing three polyether polyols with different levels of a single palm olein‐based natural oil polyol (NOP) was systematically correlated with the changes in foaming reactivity, cell structure, physico‐mechanical properties, and morphology of viscoelastic (VE) foams. The data show that replacing the polyether polyols with the NOP slightly increased the rate of the foaming reactivity. Increasing the NOP content resulted in increased cell size and cells remained fully open. Increased NOP content contributed to higher load bearing properties of VE foam, which can be attributed to higher functionality of NOP compared to polyether polyols. Addition of the NOP slightly increased the resilience of the foams, however, the hysteresis which is the measure of energy absorption remained mostly unaffected. Age properties, characterized by dry and humid compression sets, were mostly unaffected by the replacement of the polyether polyol with the NOP. The addition of NOP did not impact the morphology of the VE foam polymer matrix, which appears to retain a low degree of hard and soft segment domain separation. Overall, the results demonstrate a feasibility that the NOP can be used to partially replace the polyether polyols in VE polyurethane foams without significant impact on the functional performance. 相似文献
