Light-induced spin-polarized transient EPR spectra are reported for several water-soluble copper porphyrins. The spectra are assigned to the doublet ground state, with emissive spin polarization resulting from photoexcitation and subsequent electronic relaxation. In contrast to other systems for which polarization of a doublet ground state has been observed, the exchange interactions in the copper porphyrins are strong and the geometry is fixed. It is proposed that intersystem crossing from the photoexcited trip-doublet to the trip-quartet state can lead to net polarization of the spin system and that this polarization is maintained during electronic decay, possibly via charge-transfer and exciplex states. The intensity of the observed spin polarization is essentially independent of the molecular orientation in the external field, but is strongly dependent on the nature of the charged peripheral groups. Quality of Crude Fish Oil Extracted from Herring Byproducts of Varying States of Freshness 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
ABSTRACT: Herring byproducts were stored at 2 and 15 °C for up to 72 h. Over time, significant increases of total volatile bases (TVB), histamine, putrescine, cadaverine, and tyramine were detected. However, only tyramine and TVB levels were temperature-dependent. The level of total polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) was constant. Longer byproducts storage gave rise to an oil with higher levels of free fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and total PUFAs, while fluorescent compounds were lower. A higher storage temperature led to oil higher in α-tocopherol and EPA levels and lower in anisidine value. Surprisingly, the oil with the highest content of PUFAs was not produced from the freshest byproducts, and oil with low oxidation products can be extracted from stored byproducts. 相似文献

Fatty acid esters, high in linoleic acid, were prepared and stored for long-term engine tests. Storage tests with these esters were undertaken to obtain more information on optimal storage requirements and general stability characteristics. Samples were kept at three temperature levels (20 C, 30 C and fluctuating around 50 C) for a 90-day period and were removed at regular intervals for chemical and physical analysis. The influence of air, temperature, light, TBHQ and contact with mild steel was evaluated by comparing the free fatty acid, peroxide, anisidine, ultraviolet absorption, viscosity and induction periods. A statistical model was used to evaluate the data and to reduce the large number of data points to comparable curves. Storage of esters in contact with air, especially at a temperature above 30 C, resulted in significant increases in peroxide, ultraviolet absorption, free fatty acid, viscosity and anisidine values. Exclusion of air retarded oxidation at all temperature levels. A direct relationship between viscosity increases and oxidation parameters was evident. Exposure to light caused a small increase in the oxidation parameters of esters stored at the highest temperature level. Addition of TBHQ prevented oxidation of samples stored under moderate conditions. Under unfavorable storage conditions the anti-oxidant was no longer effective. Mild steel had very little effect on the oxidation parameters. Only the anisidine values of samples stored at the highest temperature level were slightly increased. Methyl esters performed slightly better than ethyl esters during the storage test. The following practical guidelines for storage of fatty acid ester fuels are: (i) airtight containers should be used; (ii) the storage temperature should be <30 C; (iii) mild steel (rust free) containers may be used, and (iv) TBHQ has a beneficial effect on oxidation stability. 相似文献

A unified approach is presented to the related problems of recovering signal parameters from noisy observations and identifying linear system model parameters from observed input/output signals, both using singular value decomposition (SVD) techniques. Both known and new SVD-based identification methods are classified in a subspace-oriented scheme. The SVD of a matrix constructed from the observed signal data provides the key step in a robust discrimination between desired signals and disturbing signals in terms of signal and noise subspaces. The methods that are presented are distinguished by the way in which the subspaces are determined and how the signal or system model parameters are extracted from these subspaces. The spectral stochastic finite element method (SSFEM) aims at constructing a probabilistic representation of the response of a mechanical system, whose material properties are random fields. The response quantities, e.g. the nodal displacements, are represented by a polynomial series expansion in terms of standard normal random variables. This expansion is usually post-processed to obtain the second-order statistical moments of the response quantities. However, in the literature, the SSFEM has also been suggested as a method for reliability analysis. No careful examination of this potential has been made yet. In this paper, the SSFEM is considered in conjunction with the first-order reliability method (FORM) and with importance sampling for finite element reliability analysis. This approach is compared with the direct coupling of a FORM reliability code and a finite element code. The two procedures are applied to the reliability analysis of the settlement of a foundation lying on a randomly heterogeneous soil layer. The results are used to make a comprehensive comparison of the two methods in terms of their relative accuracies and efficiencies. 相似文献

Orientation-induced crystallization of crystallizable polymer melts can occur, under certain conditions, during flow through converging channels. Attempts have been made to achieve this phenomenon in a two-phase system, i.e., during simultaneous extrusion of a continuous concentric core of polypropylene within a polystyrene matrix through a conical duct. On one occasion, using Carlona P SY6100 (MFI = 11.0) with Hostyren N2000-V-01 (MFI = 25.0), a highly oriented polypropylene thread with a modulus of 14.6 GPa and a melting point of 178°C was extruded at a die temperature of approximately 170°C and a pressure lower than 40 MPa. ABSTRACT: A pilot plant used for upgrading herring byproducts into fish oil was analyzed on its operational efficiency and product quality. The temperature of the heat exchanger and the speeds of the pump and the 3-phase decanter were varied according to a 23 fractional factorial design. The initial amount of oxidation products present in the crude oil, its storage stability, and the yields from the different obtained products were determined. Multivariate data analysis of the advanced screening stage showed that T had neither influence on the quality nor on the yield in contrast to D and MP (P < 0.05). Process optimization results showed that the quality of the oil was influenced by an interaction effect between the speed of the MP and the D. The bone response to different calcium phosphate (Ca-P) coated implants was evaluated in a goat animal model. Two types of plasma spray coatings were applied to a commercially pure titanium (cpTi) tapered, conical screw-design implant (BioComp®); hydroxyapatite (HA-PS) and a dual coating, consisting of FA and HA (FA/HA-PS). In addition an amorphous RF magnetron sputter coating (Ca-P-a) and uncoated implants were investigated. Forty-eight implants were inserted in the maxilla of 12 adult female goats. After implantation periods of 3 and 6 months, the bone implant interface was evaluated histologically and histomorphometrically. After both implantation periods all plasma spray coated implants were maintained. On the other hand three Ca-P-a and two cpTi implants were lost. Histological examination revealed a better bone response to both plasma spray coated implants. Histomorphometrical evaluation confirmed this finding. At 3 and 6 months significantly higher percentages of bone contact (p<0.001, ANOVA) were measured for both plasma spray coated implants than for the cpTi and Ca-P-a implants, while no significant difference (p<0.05) existed between both implantation periods. Degradation of both plasma spray coatings was observed. Supported by the results, it is concluded that, although Ca-P coatings can improve the performance of dental implants, the presence of a Ca-P coating is not the only important factor for bone healing around implants placed in low density trabecular bone. 相似文献

The Shc adaptor protein, hereafter referred to as ShcA, possesses two distinct phosphotyrosine-recognition modules, a C-terminal Src homology 2 (SH2) domain and an N-terminal phosphotyrosine-binding (PTB) domain, and is itself phosphorylated on tyrosine in response to many extracellular signals. Phosphorylation of human ShcA at Tyr-317 within its central (CH1) region induces binding to the Grb2 SH2 domain and is thereby implicated in activation of the Ras pathway. Two shc-related genes (shcB and shcC) have been identified in the mouse. shcB is closely related to human SCK, while shcC has not yet been found in other organisms. The ShcC protein is predicted to have a C-terminal SH2 domain, a CH1 region with a putative Grb2-binding site, and an N-terminal PTB domain. The ShcC and ShcB SH2 domains bind phosphotyrosine-containing peptides and receptors with a specificity related to, but distinct from, that of the ShcA SH2 domain. The ShcC PTB domain specifically associates in vitro with the autophosphorylated receptors for nerve growth factor and epidermal growth factor. These results indicate that ShcC has functional SH2 and PTB; domains. In contrast to shcA, which is widely expressed, shcC RNA and proteins are predominantly expressed in the adult brain. These results suggest that ShcC may mediate signaling from tyrosine kinases in the nervous system, such as receptors for neurotrophins. 相似文献
