Résumé. Des plantules de mais sont cultivées à partir de la graine, à 1'obscurite ct i la lumiere, sur des solutions tamponnées (pH5,8) d'hydrazidemalfrque (HM) de concentrations allant de 10' a 10−3 M. AUX faibles concentrations (10° et 10−6 M), I'HM stimule la croissance et la formation des racines; aux autres concentrations, it est inhibiteur. L'inhibition de croissance provoquee par I'HM est accompagnee d'une augmentation de poids sec et de la teneur en anthocyanes.
L'HM n'influence pas in vitro la destruction de I'auxine par des extraits de mais, mais les extraits de plantes traitees par cette substance degradent l'hormone moins rapidement; parallelement, l'activite catalasique est diminuee mais l'activite péroxydasique est augmented. Le mode d'action de I'HM sur la croissanee et la rhizogenpse, compart à celui de la lumierc, est discute en rapport avec ses effets sur le raetabolisme auxinique.  相似文献

Cowpea, Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walpers, is a major dietary staple in tropical Africa where it is most often cultivated. The production is, however, greatly hampered by severe infestation and damage by insect pests including the cowpea aphid, Aphis craccivora Koch. The damage and bionomics of the aphid are briefly introduced. Chemical, cultural, physical and biological methods, and use of plant resistance for A. craccivora control in cowpea are reviewed. Perennial ryegrass cv. S23 was preserved by fermentation (C), or with the addition of 8.7 1 formalin (35% w/w formaldehyde) per t fresh herbage (F) or of 9.0 1 equal mixture (by vol.) of formalin and formic acid (85% w/w solution) per t fresh herbage (FF). These three silages comprised the treatments in a three-period, crossover design in which urea (u) was given at the rate of 20 g per kg dietary DM to half the animals. Twelve calves were allocated to the treatment sequences when they were approximately 12 weeks of age from within groups which had previously received diets with or without urea. Calves ate significantly (P< 0.001) less of silages F or FF than of silage C when each was offered alone, but when urea was given, intakes of silages F and FF were significantly (P < 0.001) increased such that the intakes of all three silages with urea were similar (23.6, 19.6, 19.3, 24.2, 24.2, 24.7 ± 0.51 g DM per kg LW for C, F, FF, Cu, Fu and FFu, respectively). Significantly (P<0.01) more of the DM in silage C was digested than in F or FF and the addition of urea significantly (P<0.05) increased the digestibility of DM from silage FF only (73.8, 71.3, 69.8, 74.6, 70.7, 72.5 ± 0.72% for C, F, FF, Cu, Fu and FFu, respectively). When the silages were given alone, calves spent longer eating and ruminating per kg DM ingested with F or FF than with C. The time spent on F and FF was significantly (P<0.01) reduced by the addition of urea (303, 388, 411, 297, 299, 290 ± 18.9 min per kg DM ingested for C, F, FF, Cu and Fu and FFu, respectively). The results presented suggest that urea partially alleviated the reduction in voluntary intake by calves given herbage preserved using formalin, but the mode of action was not clear.  相似文献

A method of counting freshly harvested spores of powdery mildew ( Erysiphe graminis f.sp. hordei ), yellow rust ( Puccinia striiformis ) and brown rust ( P. hordei ) of barley as well as brown rust ( P. recondita ) of wheat, using infra-red reflectance spectrophotometry was investigated. A Neotec 6350 Research Composition Analyser was used to scan spore samples on glass-fibre filter disks in the near infra-red region of the spectrum (1100–2500 nm) and the amount of energy reflected at 1400 different wavelengths recorded. Three wavelengths (1900, 2252 and 2308 nm) that together gave the best multiple correlation with spore populations counted on a haemocytometer slide were selected. Partial regression coefficients for each fungal species were derived by relating reflectance energy values to direct spore counts. Utilizing these and the energy reflected at the three selected wavelengths, it was possible to count spore samples with high precision. Correlations >0.9 between numbers estimated by the instrument and those obtained using a haemocytometer slide (within the range 0–30000 spores) were achieved with all the fungi examined. Application of the technique to smaller, fixed-filter instruments as a routine method of counting spores is discussed.  相似文献

In a trial lasting 3 years at Jealott's Hill and 2 years at Ravenscroft Hall, a total of 73 January- March-calving Friesian x Holstein cows and heifers were given a diet consisting almost exclusively of ensiled and grazed ryegrass for an entire lactation to establish the level of milk production which grass alone can support. From calving to turnout in April/May (average duration 87 days), the animals were given high digestibility (DOMD = 678g kg-1 DM) ryegrass silage ad libitum. After turnout, they grazed ryegrass swards until housing in autumn. Thereafter, the cattle were given ryegrass silage of lower digestibility (DOMD = 600–620 g kg-1 DM) for the remainder of the lactation and during the dry period.
Mean silage dry matter intakes from calving to turnout were 13–2 kg day-1 at Jealott's Hill and 11·5 kg day-1 at Ravenscroft Hall. Average milk yields were 21-1 kg day-1 for cows and 16-1 kg day-1 for heifers with 39-2g fat kg-1, 29-6g protein kg-1 and 47–9 g lactose kg-1. Over the complete lactation, average milk yields were 4680 kg and 4006 kg for the cows and heifers, respectively, with 39-4 g fat kg-1, 31·4 g protein kg-1 and 46·9 g lactose kg-1. Animal health and fertility were satisfactory. The results demonstrated the value of high quality grazed and ensiled ryegrass and provided a measure of milk production from grass only.  相似文献

The daily mortality rates of North Sea herring early‐stage larvae are found to vary over decades. Larval abundance data were used with a spatio‐temporal oceanographic model to reconstruct temperature histories of the observed larvae. The histories were used in conjunction with a temperature‐based growth model to estimate larval age. Mean daily mortality rates were then estimated for the four spawning components (Downs, Banks, Buchan and Orkney/Shetland) using the vertical life table approach, which considers instantaneous abundances across all ages rather than following distinct cohorts. All spawning components, but especially Downs (in the south), exhibited a steady rise in mortality associated with increasing population size. In addition, the three northern components shared a distinct trend in mortality that was significantly correlated with ambient water temperatures experienced by the larvae during the respective time periods after hatching. This trend was also significantly negatively correlated with the residuals of the whole stock‐recruitment relationship. These findings were generally robust to assumptions about growth and hatch length of larvae. The compensatory increase in productivity in the late 1980s and poor recruitment since 2000 coincide with changes in the mortality of larvae younger than 30 days post hatch and covary with larval density and temperature. Thus we suggest that the mortality of early‐stage larvae does impact on the population dynamics in North Sea herring in its current productivity regime, implying a critical period in the determination of year class strength.  相似文献

Large undisturbed soil cores (20 cm diam. × 25–30 cm long) were irrigated at rates of 0.5–4 cm h?1 with 0.005 M CaCl2 solution labelled with 3HOH. The cores were used at varying initial water contents and flow in all cases was unsaturated. Breakthrough curves for Cl and 3HOH were markedly asymmetric and unlike those reported for columns of packed aggregates. The data could be satisfactorily described using a density distribution function of the logarithm of cumulative drainage D. The mean and standard deviation of In D were estimated by a curve-fitting procedure from Cl and 3HOH effluent concentrations in each core. The mean pore water velocity and fraction of the soil water that participated in solute transport (the mobile volume) were also calculated. The apparent velocity of Cl movement was always greater than that of 3HOH which suggested that the mobile volume involved in convective and diffusive transport of Cl was less than that for 3HOH. We suggest that Cl and 3HOH diffused at different rates out of flowing water films in a relatively few large conducting channels into essentially immobile water within the surrounding soil matrix. The difference in mobile volume for Cl and 3HOH was used to calculate the perimeter of voids in any horizontal cross-section of the soil through which water flowed, assuming a planar interface between the mobile and immobile water.  相似文献
